Parents! BE ON ALERT! K2, SPICE, INCENSE BAD NEWS!
You may have heard about K2, SPICE, or INCENSE on the news lately . . .but I am here to tell you first hand this stuff is a killer and at the very least, a life changer. I couldn't understand why one of my relatives behavior and physical well being changed. . .DRASTICALLY. Usually very nice, she had become verbally vicious -yelling about everything and insignificant things and lying. She started throwing up every time she ate- and started to gain weight and complain of not feeling good. Her eyes looked funny. She started sleeping after every meal. Then the binging started. And the constant vomiting, coughing, and headaches. She began sleeping 14 hours at a stretch. And there was a strange smell coming from her room. When asked what she was burning in there -and we got the most ridiculous answers: "Candles", "Nothing!", "OMG! Strings off my pants!", "Paper". No one believed these flimsy excuses. This nice girl turned into an unrecognizable monster! And she started t gain weight. Her constant complaints of not feeling good warranted her to go to the doctor . . .but no matter how many times it was suggested . . .she said I can't go today. My son kept telling us she was burning something or smoking something in the room we let her stay in. I developed an irritating cough. She kept the door locked so it was hard to catch her in the act. Eventually though, I did. They roll this easy to buy at most convenience stores "incense" like they would marijuana. Before too long, I found little roaches or the ends of the joints she was smoking. By this time I had looked up the side effects of this very dangerous substance . . .and she had almost every single one of them! I was absolutely horrified to know that it caused violent behavior and physical illness. Psychosis, panic attacks. And she was psychotic enough to have lied about smoking this garbage in her room! We do not allow any smoking in our home. I have asthma and my son- home on college break has it really bad. And she was so stoned out on this stuff that she didn't even consider this! We laid down the law and told her we would just ask her to leave if she continued smoking this mislabled incense. She agreed not to smoke it anymore and swore she wasn't addicted. And I was born yesterday! I was left to watch her by myself while the rest of the family took a two week cross country trip. That is when things really got bad. She decided I was the weaker force in the family, and she got MEAN! I was actually afraid to be alone with her. I slept with one eye open . . if at all. I checked to make sure she was alive several times a night. She went to work, and I went into her room. I almost dropped to the floor when I saw the mess of vomit in the garbage . . .and the burned foil and paper and ashes all over the floor. I had her come to clean up the mess and tossed her out. I still couldn't sleep- thinking she was going to break in and hurt me for kicking her out. Or at the very least, damage the house. She eventually came back when the rest of the family returned . . .and she promised she had quit. And I believe she did for a few weeks. She was nicer, funny, healthier (no vomiting and/dry heaves. Her eyes were brighter. Last week she started showing signs of smoking it again. And yes- again she lit up in the house. And on the lanai. And we caught her red handed. The government and the state of FL are trying to ban this horrible killer (heart attacks with no underlying reason-other than that the young people who suffered these fatal attacks had all smoked K2.The companies that sell it lace this stuff with synthetic cannabis- and they are not detectable in drug tests. ONE HUNDRED and NINETY TWO are illegal in this stuff. What these young people are putting into their systems is anyone's guess. But to companies that manufacture this junk change the formula making it hard for law enforcement to bust these companies! They play a game and they KNOW IT! SERIOUS and HARD facts:Marketed under various names. They label the stuff with names like Spice, K2, Spice Gold, Spice Silver, Spice Diamond, Genie, Yucatan Fire, Bliss, Black Mamba, Bombay Blue, Fake Weed, Zohai, Red MagicSpice, Dream, Blonde, Sky High, Smoke, Skunk, ZohaiOrange Dragon Smoke, and Dawn. Just to name "a few". Marketed as incense. Spice/K2 is a legal substance marketed since 2006 as a dried, herbal blend for use as incense. However, people are smoking the incense because it produces a high similar to marijuana, but of longer duration. The incense is sprayed with JWH-018, a synthetic THC, before it is packaged for sale. This spray is reportedly an "analgesic chemical which acts as a cannabinoid."More potent than marijuana. Depending on the synthetic compound used in a specific commercial brand, spice can be anywhere from 4 times to over 100 times more potent than marijuana (THC). And rumor has it is getting MUCH stronger than it was a couple of years ago! That comes from people who have smoked it since it hit the shelves. Not for human consumption. Spice is sold in smoke shops, head shops, discount cigarette shops drive through liquor stores and on line in a variety of colors/flavors-usually sold in foil packaging or in small glass containers. It is sold as incense and marked "not for human consumption". However that is the very fine print. The bold print is one of the names mentioned above. A package of spice can cost $25 to $50 depending on the brand.Significant health risks. Spice is causing a significant health risk. Spice/K2 is often contaminated with unidentified toxic substances which contribute to various adverse health effects (also cause hallucinogenic effects similar to effects of PCP. Symptoms/side-effects may include:mimics marijuana "high" (often induced more quickly/more intense than "real" marijuana)hallucinationsseizures/tremorscoma/unconsciousness/vomitingnumbness/tinglingincreased respiration rate elevated/ blood pressure (reported up to 200/100-medically dangerous)/elevated heart rate (reported up to rate of 150-medically dangerous)increased level of anxiety/agitation leading to panic attacks (possible suicide attempts)All effects of K2/Spice drugs may not be known for a very long time because of long time period that body stores them. Developed for research, never tested on humans. Spice/K2 was developed by Dr. John W. Huffman, a Clemson University professor, as part of research for the National Institute for Drug Abuse (NIDA) on endogenous cannabinoid receptors-but never tested on humans nor approved by the FDA. Dr. Huffman said in an interview to WebMD, "It is like Russian roulette to use these drugs. We don’t know a darn thing about them for real. It shouldn’t be out there."Not just smoked. Spice is most often smoked but can be mixed in with food or drink.State and International bans already in place. I implore you to be aware of this and the changes and side effects that occur if someone smokes it. If you suspect someone is . . .please intervene. There is help for people addicted to this. And it IS addictive! It has a floral/musk-like sent. I am also begging the people of FL and all states to help get this stuff off the shelves. I report it to the local sheriff's dept. if I see it being sold. And they do get busted! The bottom line: This stuff is readily available and it kills. As one 15-year-old girl who was addicted to it and suffered serious neurological side effects from it put it . . . "if you are in Drug Court or on probation and are smoking this stuff to beat the tests . . .you would be better off smoking the real stuff because a misdemeanor is better than being dead." Just for the record, I do NOT promote smoking Pot either! Spread the word, and never assume that everything is OK.Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/health/2011/11/08/synthetic-drugs-show-deadly-side-effects/#ixzz22A2LBwrPA message from a very concerned resident of Manatee county's young people and ALL of the ones in the world smoking this evil substance.

have been smoking k2 for 3 years and i smoke nearly 10 grams a day (the largest bag sold in stores around here) and i can honestly say yes you guys are right about some things also some things are incorrect. you have to keep in mind things you discover through the media isnt always true... but as for panic attacks, very real i have had about 15 without being checked out in the past year. mostly feeling as if i was having a heart attack. also the fainting as i read in a comment also deffinately very real happened to a good friend of mine. this stuff is made with cannaboid's i actually have a friend who makes the "spice" or "k2". can also say the cough ive developed is to much could see the coughing up blood although i havent done it myself. i think it is also safe to say it makes you hear things and also causes severe paranoia. i tried quiting once and its so addictive i litterally could not stop thinking about it for 48 hours untill i smoked and couldnt really sleep.

Kyle, If for nothing else, think of the money you spend & have budgeted aside for this crap. You have incorporated it as an ongoing needed expense. Wake up. It isn't a needed expense. You people kill me with the can't sleep crap. I smoked it everyday for three years too. Take a friggin sleeping pill for a week, or so. Big shit, you can't sleep. The druggie actor Robert Downey JR., in describing himself, actually described you. He said, " I've got a gun cocked & loaded in my mouth, my finger is on the trigger & it's itchy. And I like the taste of the gun metal." If you're so worried about sleep, you will sleep a long time when this crap kills you. You 'felt' like you were getting a heart attack? This stuff screws with your circulatory system. If getting high is worth playing Russian roulette with your life, look at yourself in the mirror & ask yourself if you planned to become a hopeless drug addict. Like Zeplin said, " there are two paths. You can go back, but in the long run; there's still time to change the road you're on."

I hope you read Tawnya's comment. It's about the drug. Not about parents challanging their childrens moves when they KNOW something is up! Thankfully, the girl I am writing about was smart enough to get off it. Tawnya's son, wasn't so lucky! This changes your brain, your metabolism, your heart rate- and ultimately, it kills!

Michael, I have to differ with you. I am not a child. I am about to turn 67 in a month. I smoked pot on & off all my life & it is harmless. This SPICE is far from harmless. About three years ago I began smoking spice & it was like a God send. Legal Pot I THOUGHT. About two six months after & began, I began to have intermittent mobility problems that I attributed to age. Then my blood pressure became high. Then my kidney readings got dangerously low. I attributed it all to advancing age. About a year ago my neck became very stiff with accompanying headaches.
I bought it on the Internet. Due to changing formulas, the last stuff I bought 'Atom Bomb' sent my neck pain into the stratosphere, the headaches became unbearable & I felt psychotic. It had LSD intensity, but was like I ingested poi sen.
I quit it & my neck is improving, but the headaches & neck pain persist after two months. Net searches revealed that it causes High Blood pressure & renal failure. I'm proof. I hope my body can recover fully, but for now, that remains to be seen.

This is for PAUL! Are you kidding? It's the LAW MAKER'S fault that made the change compound? No. It's the companies making it to stay one step ahead the law by changing the compound! So then they could sell it again. The "Spice People" care about one thing and one thing only . . .getting you addicted, raking in the dough and getting rich off your demise. They are laughing at the assholes who smoke this crap! Get REAL!

Yes- I agree with you Christine. Please- if you see it on the shelves report it. The law enforcement agencies will get off them. I hope your friend got some help and is better. will you send me an update? People that get this bad either get help (a full year to completely recover if smoked for a long time!)- or they die. Or at best have heart attacks. Also- does he have MRSA? the slow to heal lesion makes me wonder. We all carrie this in our noses . . .but if your immune system becomes compromized and you are hanging with people who have it - or just touch something that has been exposed to it- like dirt- you can get it. Please update me!

Laws against herbal incense won't do much, it's extremely easy to buy online. I did some research at http://smokingblendreviews.com before buying some, and thankfully I had a positive experience with it. I hope I never run into these horrible effects that some people describe.

Thought I wait to reply to you JJBiggins. I hope you are not yet feeling the negative effects of the smoking blend of Incense you are smoking. One question . . .usually by the time those negative hit . . .people are hooked on it. Would you be honest and tell me how it going for you? I don't want to glorify this stuff in anyway, shape or form. Perhaps you are one of the lucky ones. Perhaps you will not be forever, tho.

JJ Biggins. Beware. I didn't have any negative effects, so I thought, but it is a slow process that over time tears you down. In three years that I smoked it, I think I aged about 10. Someone says a full year to completely recover. I smoke it every day for three years & the effects are diminishing after 7 weeks, but I expect it to be a good six months before I would feel OK at the rate I'm improving.
Since I quit, I have also been having extremely psychotic nightmares on a nightly basis. The headaches are not as severe, but they still come on without warning & sometimes I feel like that are as bad as when I first quit. The Atom Bomb I smoked was vicious. That stuff was so like rat poison that I quit immediately & threw $300 worth of the crap into the trash. I was an addict & still threw it away as soon as I smoked Atom Bomb about three times. It felt like it wasn't wearing off & one bong hit would bring on Acid level intensity, with feelings of psychosis & a sick poisoned feeling. I stopped throwing up all the time too.

The reason she is so distant, irritated, all around out of it, is because she can't just go say"Hey, I'm smoking spice." or you would react like how you are right now. The thing parents don't understand is that kids that want to get high will continue to find legal ways to get high. They can either smoke illegal drugs, or they can smoke legal drugs, or do legal drugs, such as Spice, Whip-It's, huff their own poo, do Cough Syrups, ect. So it's all about choosing the battles you wanna fight. Either cut them some slack and let them smoke some Spice, or they can continue to find new ways to get high and hurt them selfs even more. I've smoked Spice many times, and I've puked once from doing it. It's her life so why not let her smoke a little. Just tell her no smoking in the house, if she wants to smoke then she needs to be outside, have a set amount that you'll allow her to smoke, rather than getting in fights with her. I'm sure that a 8th or so a month will 1. Make her less distance because she doesn't have to worry about getting caught. 2. As long as she is doing it outside you wont need to worry about the smell. 3. She will most likely get sick less or not at all because she wont be smoking much. 4. Tell her that there is no smoking during family get togethers and no one will need to worry about her getting stoned or having a attitude. In the end life will be better for everyone because she will be happy and you will be happy.

Really Cody I am one of those parents my son WAS not any more allowed to smoke outside and he decided everyone was smoking k2 so he thought he would smoke that and he has told me he has in the past but this time he had one hit out of a one hitter and colapsed on my bathroom floor trying to get our attention so yes this is very dangerous stuff. It will not change the girl by allowing her to do this under your rules listed because they are going to try it and possibly end up in a coffin so cody if you choose to end up in a coffin go right a head and smoke it but don't tell people how to raise their kids. I have done wrong by allowing my son to do it. i was always told sometimes they have to learn the hard way and it almost cost me my sons life so BAN ALL THIS SHIT!!!!

Having been a spice addict, I saw the signs of the psychosis in others. I had a nephew that was a pot head & he may have been into spice. He became very depressed for no reasons & one day, with no warning ended his life tragically. I always suspected that spice played a part & that was long before I knew it was killing my health. I was just aware of the effects on my mind & could relate. The killer in Aurora look like a spice freak to me & I wouldn't rule out the Sandy Hook Killer either. Their actions are in keeping with the type of psychosis I had a window into. Even the nightmares I now have are of the same psychotic nature & when I wake up from one, my head has the same type of ache it does when I get a spice type headache. I just hope I didn't do permanent brain damage.

@sam... Yes, I agree that the gov does try to run everything... Just imagine all the money they would collect if they did legalize pot... I was out at Humbolt Bay in Cali a few years back, and what I saw did not impress me with the legalising of pot... There were a lot of young adults living out of their back packs, walking the streets, looking lost... I wonder if that was just the affects of pot, drugs, or just the location of being in the highest suicide rated city in the nation.. So I do kinda worry about it being so available... The younger generation does not know the word Moderation... To them nothing succeeds like excess...

I just don't understand why people have to fog their brains up with substances when there is so many beautiful and interesting things to absorb on this planet. Yes- I know it is a disease . . .but @Michelle . . .the legalization of pot - even if only sold to people over the age of 21 will still wind up in the hands of the "no moderation aged people . . .teenagers. Mostly. College students, too. And even some adults. Case in point: alcohol.

I hate to be the one who tells you this Linda, as the father of a college age daughter, teenagers and college students already use a lot of pot, which is by all accounts very easily obtained if they have the money to pay for it. These quasi-legal synthetics are much less costly though and they can be bought at almost any corner convenience store. I strongly believe there is a direct correlation between the criminalization of marijauana and the creation of these harmful synthetic drugs. Yes, there are both pros and cons to legalizing pot. Surely, one of the pros though is that it would remove the forces that drive the market for these very harmful man-made substances.

@Tawnya I'm not telling you how to raise your kid, I'm saying by being a suprem ruler of your house you are possibly driving your kids further away. Sorry to hear about the loss of your child. But he did it, his own choice, it's not the sellers fault he smoked. Ban fast food for giving people heart attacks, ban flashing lights for giving people seizures. I'm not saying K2 is bad, I'm not saying it's good, I'm saying banning it wont help, it will make it like every other illegal drug. Do you really think we should waste a shit load of money banning yet another drug, so then we can have even less money to use to help our debt? The only reason they should make Spice/K2 illegal, is if they make Weed legal. The reason people smoke K2 is to get the same high as Weed, but with worse side effects, so why not start a campagne for legalizing pot, instead of wasting time banning a synthetic drug that kids will just smoke anyways.

If I didn't go after the girl I wrote about that prompted me to right this story . . .she would likely be dead or in an assylum. Parents take care of their kids- no matter how old. Obviosly- you were allowed to do whatever you wanted. Toxic substances should be banned. Sellers know what they are selling- and I hold them accountable for making it available to everyone. I also hold the person who chooses to buy it responsible, smoke it responsible . . .and the parent that does nothing to stop it responsible!

Many of the negative comments are from straight ass parents that are afraid of drugs hurting there kids. Usually they don't know what they are talking about, but believe the hype. There are also many comments here from people with extensive drug experience. Many people that have no problem with other drugs, have a major problem with this crap. If you go to the Pot threads, you don't see drug users with horror stories like you read with this stuff. This stuff is really a slow poison.
Kids will smoke it legal, or not. Many adults will smoke it & not believe the stories of how people are harmed by it.
This comment isn't only to parents to beware. All people, stay away from this crap. It's not worth flirting with permanent damage to your health.
I stopped smoking it 2 1/2 months ago & still get headaches & severe neck pain. It's getting better, but at this rate, it will take another 6 months to recuperate, if I ever do.
It isn't an overnight downward effect. It is a slow downward spiral that takes it's tole slowly & you won't recognize why you are aging so fast as being from the spice, but it kills people.

@Linda Ahuna - I never put any stock in people's anti-drug propaganda, thinking it was anti- drug hype, like refer madness, modern style.
Back in the day, we used to look at the propaganda & laugh. Of Acid, we used to say it was good, but didn't live up to it's publicity, etc.
I thought the anti-spice hype was just hype. I realized all my increasing physical deterioration was caused by spice when I bought some Atom Bomb & Scobby Snax on the Internet & somehow the mixing of the two sent my symptoms into a dangerous effect that made me afraid I had ingested insect spray, or rat poison. I quit immediately out of fear for my life & well being. No drug ever frightened, or effected me like this. I then did Internet searches that gave ill health effects & saw a list of everything that had gone wrong with my health in the last three years since I started smoking this crap on a daily basis. The symptoms are getting better, but the longevity of them tells me it's not just toxicity that needs to detoxify. It seems like damage to my nervous system. My kidney readings are not improving & the Doctor says it may be permanent. I never needed high blood pressure medicine before now & that is also one of the effects listed on the Internet.
That's why I warn people. If I deter anyone, I've helped.

@Linda Ahuna Your logic is fucked. Yes the Buyer/Smoker is responsible because if they are smart, they will know what they are buying, so they choose to buy it. The Dealer doesn't force people to buy it, who ever buys it buys it. Who ever smokes it smokes it. No one makes them buy it, it's their own choice. The "Parents that do nothing to stop it" also aren't at fault. First off, you don't know everyone alive, you don't know everyones parents. Some parents might try to stop it, but parents don't always succeed, you can't hold them accountable. Some parents might let their kids smoke it, still can't hold them accountable. If the buyer buys it, then the buyer is at fault for w/e happens to them. You can't go around blaming everyone else because your relative decided to smoke it. It's her own fault. I don't go around blaming Henry Ford because a Ford Truck ran over my dog, and I don't blame the dealership that sells Ford Trucks. I don't blame Smith and Weston because one of their guns was used in a murder, nor do I blame any place that sells guns. YOUR RELATIVE CHOOSE TO SMOKE SPICE, IT'S HER OWN FAULT. You can't blame the dealer because she went and bought it at her own consent. And for the record, my parents are actually quite strict, instead of acting like you know how I was raised, use information you actually have to state your opinion/make your argument.

If people are going to smoke, they are going to smoke. So instead of smoking an illegal plant that has medicinal value they would rather smoke an unknown toxic concoction to avoid getting arrested. Unfortunately we live in a society that promotes self destruction. If your not accustomed to the flaws of human nature or some of the injustices of the legislative branch, I suggest you open your eyes and ask yourself what is easier to change? Flaws of human nature or flaws within the government?

@ Jim- you make a lot of good points. I say let's make the gov't respomsible to take this shit off the shelves (please look at the tab posted at the bottom of my post from Hillsborough County, FL) . . .because you cannot change human behavior. I do disagree that we are a society that promotes self destruction. Individuals (dealers) and drug cartels and K2, spice, etc . . .promote self destruction because they profit from it. And I am all for medicinal pot!

Everyone has had good feedback on k2. I've been smoking it and I'm beginning to get headaches from nowhere, sleeplessness if I don't smoke, I get winded and I've gotten angry easily over small things. I used to enjoy the pot like high. But with any drug, you can never chase the same high you got from the first time trying. I think I'm done. After reading the testimonies I'm scared. Pot never scared me that way

Hi Walter-
Thanks for your honesty in posting your comment. If you are feeling the effects from this or ANY drug . . .it is time to get help. There are more than 192 banned (illegal) toxic and deadly chemicals in this crap. You say you THINK you are done- which leaves the question ARE you done? Be smart- utilize the help that is out there and get off this crap? Keep me posted- good luck! I care!

Hi Linda. Thank you for the info & thanks for caring. I was wondering if anyone would respond to my comments. As you can see I wrote that at 2am. I just couldn't sleep. I think the habit is more mental than physical but I could be wrong. I know it's mind over matter. I kept reading facts & comments til 3am. Reading helped me sleep. The only person that can help me is myself. The more I learn, the more I'm turned off by this.

Thank you Jane. Believe me I try to keep myself preoccupied at all times. Unfortunately idle time is the devil's playground so when I'm not doing something I stop to smoke. I've gotten past alcohol which I think is THE WORST addiction anyone can have. Now it's a matter of getting the patch or chewing nicotine gum to get rid of the cravings. I'm also considering the inhaler or the fake cigarettes. Nicotine is no joke
Walter

K2 is no joke either as I am feeling like there IS a stronger addiction to it than designer drugs or alcohol or nicotine. I'm trying to take it easy. By communicating on this site, it is helping me get these feelings out. I was able to stop smoking pot cold turkey with little to no withdrawal symptoms. I can't say the same about k2

Walter-
From what I have learned about addiction over the years- you cannot quit everything at once. Quit the K2- you need help to do it. Then- after you are back to normal without the K2? Quit smoking. Get an e-cig or something. But don't try it all at once . . .one step at a time. Okay? Be strong! I am pulling for you!!!
Walter

Thank you Linda. I figure the best way to do this is to wean myself off. Cold turkey I know is dangerous. It worked for pot, but that isn't the case for others. E cig is what I meant by fake cigs. Like you said: one step at a time. Thank you so much for your support. A little goes a long way.

If you find you can't do it- please ask for help. There are some wonderful programs that will get you off to stay off- not ones you have to stay at, either. I will check to see if you commented every day if talking about it helps. That's why I wrote the article. Can I ask if you are local?

What Michael wrote was amazing. I'm not into outpatient programs since I've been there done that. I used to smoke k2 before meetings and get tested with no positives. I don't do any drugs and pot and alcohol were my choices. Like I said before alcohol is worse than anything else and I used to binge drink. K2 was a platform for me to get over that hump and now it's a hump in itself. AA meetings are excellent . NA meetings are a joke. I think I just need some time to wean myself and look into e cigs

There wasn't much written here for a long time. It seem like it's picking up again. People seem like they are having trouble getting through the urges to smoke that make it harder to quit. I used to have trouble doing without it till I bought some on the Internet that seemed like super poison. I felt so poisoned by it that, even though it was extra strong, it was far from enjoyable. After I smoked it the first time, there were ill effects for the next entire day. When I took one hit the next day, I rocketed right back up to the top. What was bad for me was the intense pain in my neck. No one else seems to mention that symptom, but it took about a year of daily use to begin & I never attributed it to spice. This extra poison Atom Bomb made my pain excruciating & it shot from the back of my neck to my temples & sometimes inside my head. It was tied to headaches. When I researched health problems associated to it & saw all my deteriorating health was tied to it, it became easy to keep away from. Realizing that it was killing me gave me motivation. A week after I quit the symptoms began to improve. My neck still hurts after three months, but continues to sloooooly improve.

@Linda Ahuna. Thank you for the compliments, but you give me too much credit.
It seems that people are concerned & want to hold interventions, etc. Sad to say, you will just drive your loved ones further away, but they won't change their behavior. For a person to stop doing something, they need to want to stop. They will just see interventions as harassment. Hopefully they will become sick enough using it that the instinct of self preservation takes over. As soon as It sunk in that it was killing me, the fear of death, or permanent damage that would shorten my life kicked in, I never had a desire to put more fuel on the fire. I got so sick that my focus wasn't on getting high anymore. It became a focus on recuperation. This stuff really screwed me up, but it suddenly became obvious when it reached a level that couldn't be ignored. The problem with kids using it is that young people think they are immortal. When you know your time is growing short, you become more focused on how the end can be hastened. Young people think that they will live forever.
Hopefully it will be outlawed someday soon. The only good thing about it is that it may hasten to legalization of real pot and kids will stop this crap. Even kids must not like the headaches, & overall sick feeling. As that builds up in their system they will gain motivation to leave it behind.
michael mirra
8:32 pm on Tuesday, March 5, 2013
I see they are outlawing it over the counter. It is still easily available on the Internet & that will lead older kids that are really young adults to buy it & deal it to the kids at a profit. Making it illegal will just change it from a legal drug, to an illegal drug. That will drive kids to deal with the drug culture in order to buy it. That's why pot is considered a gateway drug. It doesn't lead to other drugs, but it leads to young people functioning in the drug culture. Making this spice illegal will make it more of a gateway drug & add a bootleg appeal to it. There is no way around it. Kids just have to discover the evils on their own. They will. Back in the sixties the word got out that speed kills & most young people avoided speed. There were some that didn't care, & there will be some today that don't care that spice kills. Those are the ones that would kill themselves with alcohol if there was nothing else. It's in their nature, but most kids will learn that it is better left alone. Unfortunately some will have to die along the way for that to sink in, but eventually they will turn away from it as they see others deteriorating & they feel themselves going downhill. Self preservation will set in.

This is to the guy that stole Mark Twian's name. Like you said to the woman trying to get her daughter off spice that she would have gotten it one way, or the other. You also said that I helped people find it. If they are looking for it & would get it, one way, or the other, tell me how they needed me to show them how to get it. Anyone focused on finding this crap will find it on the Internet in 1/2 a second. The only people that don't know where it is are people that don't want it. I was demonstrating how this is not sold like drugs, but like a CD, or a book on Amazon by merchants who promote it like any other product complete with sales pitches, discount promo codes, etc. As far as finding it, I guess I'm not living in the same fool's paradise as you where you think people are morons. People not in that world might not imagine how legitimately it is presented. People looking for it already know.
People that 'try' to quit are not really serious. You tell them about religious radio stations for moral support. That's bull crap. If someone REALLY doesn't want to do it anymore, they won't do it anymore. You don't need moral support to accomplish what you want to accomplish, you need determination. Bye the way, thanks for calling me Mao. I figure you sound like the kind of person that calls Obama a socialist too. Having your kind view me as in the same category as a great world leader is high praise. Thanks.

Debra the step you are taking is the right one. She doesnt know yet what she is losing . Her body is asking her to please it. She believes she cant stop and that she needs it. and you have to understand that addiction and habit are the same. Take a habit that you have and relate it to hers. You got to understand that it takes time to slow down a habit or to stop a habit. I thank you for sending those letters to congress...I wanted to put billboards up by freeways to let people know spice is dangerous...I relate with you. but you have taken action and i commend you for that. Maybe i can talk to her over the phone or something. I mean her and i are in the same boat. just another option for you .

@Debra: I know exactly what you are going thru. She still loves you- but the drug has taken over and it is ALL that matters . . .right now. If you want to save her life- it is time for serious action because she is deep trouble. She is addicted to K2. Taking things away like the car is not going to help. And the next time she leaves? Lock the door behind her for a few weeks. Or do what I did when my daughter was heavily into all sort of drugs: Marchman or Bakker act her! It is simple and might just save her life. Go to the court with another person who knows of this situation, and fill out the forms for a judge to expedite it. Make it serious. You must convince the judge she has lost her capability to make decisions for herself. And they will grant it. It will get her off the crap for a while- and then she will be remanded to a treatment center. Be strong- and do the tough love thing. Keep me posted. I care.

I posted the email advertisements I got to show how easy it is to buy online. It's like buying a CD on Amazon. You just click on what you want & add it to the shopping cart. Then you check out & two days later it's in your mailbox.
Making it illegal at local stores will just make it an underground drug, like all the other illegal drugs, only this will still be easy as hell to get.The bootleg aspect will make it more glamorous. Sad to say, we can't stop it. The fact that it is poison will help stop it as people discover that for themselves. Until they discover that themselves, they won't believe you. It isn't as addictive as they say. There were no physical withdrawal symptoms. They just have to get serious about leaving it behind. It's easier to quit than quitting smoking. I quit cigarettes 45 years ago. I was into health foods, & vitamins & when they went up to $.65 a pack ( i was used to paying .35 a pack, up from .20 when I started) I decided to stop smoking. In order to stop something, you need to STOP doing it. It's the same thing with this spice crap. The only reason people can't quit is because they are too weak to have self discipline. When they WANT TO STOP, they WILL STOP, but not before & all the talk you throw at them won't make a bit of difference.
michael mirra
7:54 pm on Wednesday, March 6, 2013
It's all about frame of mind. When you tell people to stop, you can talk till you're blue in the face. These same, addicted people, will turn around completely when the get serious about quitting. Then, they can look at a pouch of spice & crave it, but they will ask themselves which is stronger, them, or the pouch they hold in their hands. If they give in they will have guilt feelings. Not that they did something wrong, but they will be ashamed at their weakness. If they really want to quit, they will not be satisfied with anything less than holding their head up high with pride in their accomplishing what they feel they NEED to do. We don't always do what we want, but if you try sometime, you just might find, you do what you need-said the stones, more or less.
You can't make them want to quit. It is something that only comes from within themselves.

I was a spice/marijuana user...i wasnt a huge fan of drinking. I have been battling addiction for 1 year and 7 months and 16 days ... I have come to notice that life is a gift its beautiful to be alive . During this time frame i have relapse about 6 times using for a small period of time and starting over again . Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks so is he King James Version. So knowing now if I tell myself there is no way out ..i will not take action in looking for a way out because i dont put Hope as my way out....My first rehab was at age 18 involuntarily my next one was at age 23 Voluntarily nearly dying. and relapsing but voluntarily going to another one because i had hope that its gonna help me. It has. Right now im 2 months sober..every time i come near 3 months urges would come back in i would relapse to marijuana...3 days ago i denied that feeling. I was showering and getting ready to go buy marijuana..i said no God ...and he reminded me what happens when i use, he gave examples of reactions of how my family would react...my body reacted ..end up losing my job. A chain reaction of things that i lost do to just using one time ...and most important i couldnt lie to myself..to say .if someone asked did u use...i could lie to thembut ive learned that honesty can affect me also..i would know that i have. I will say i wanted to end my life but as learned in aa/na step 2 is to believe in a higher power that could restore me to sanity.. and God has :) It all started with hope

Felix, if you want to not take drugs anymore, then don't take drugs anymore. Don't expect God to help you. God helps those that help themselves. Either you would 'like' to stop, or you are serious about stopping. If you are serious, you don't need support. You just wouldn't do it anymore. People don't do what they don't want to do. Taking drugs is a choice that you choose to do. You want to take drugs. You just would like to not take them. If you don't want to, you won't. It's that simple. Quit looking for support from God. Look yourself in the mirror & ask yourself, ' am I going to not do this anymore, or am I going to continue to give a 1/2 assed effort to appease the part of me that knows I should quit, but doesn't really want to.' If you want to stop, it doesn't take strength to stop. It takes wanting too.

Michael- maybe for Felix this is what it takes. This is his way of looking at himself. And yes- God does help those who help themselves (at least that is how the saying goes . . .) , but I think whatever it takes- whatever vehicle you choose to use to quit poisoning yourself . . .what's the harm? I am more of your frame of mind- I rely on me. But some people need to something to lean on.

Spice entered my life the same reason it has in others...because its not detectable... yes i dont want to use any type of drug at all...the thing is michael...i became dependent on being high ...pleasuring myself was my goal...and to escape from reality .A relationship begin with pleasure/marijuana... its like a gf who shows you a good time..but has you concentrate on just her...and she wants more and more attention/pleasure dopamine ...my body...God wants me to depend on his power.... I mean AA began becuase 2 addicts found a way on how to not think of drinking. Showing compassion to each other and giving each other there time. LOVE. I say thats love becuase time u never get back. @Linda Ahuna alright first off, here's what you said in your second response "I never blamed the parents!" and here is what you said in your first response "and the parent that does nothing to stop it responsible!" Right there you are blaming the parent(s) for not stopping their kid from smoking it. Then you say you didn't blame them, instead of me rereading what you said, how about you do. Now you say blame the people that know it is deadly yet sell/manufacture it anyways, so lets go straight to the Government for this one. The Government allows it to be distributed, you wanna blame someone? Blame them. You most likely have a job, so you can make money. You probably use paper, paper comes from trees, loggers cut down the trees so you can use paper. Logging can kill peopler, so should I blame you that a logger died because he got crushed by a tree? If you didn't need to use paper, maybe he wouldn't be cutting down that tree. Someone dies smoking spice, blame the person who dealt it. Someone dies from fast food? Blame Fast Food restaurants. Someone dies in a drunk driving accident, right there your logic says, blame the car industries because cars are deadly, and blame the alcohol industries because alcohol kills. Yeah, spice isn't the safest thing, NOTHING is safe. Just because you don't like something, dosen't mean it's everyone else's fault, by paying taxes you are helping the distribution of Spice, so you are responsable for your relative smoking spice.
Linda Ahuna

I just think any parent or friend or anyone who cares about someone hooked on this or any other and doesn't try to intervene is not responsible. If your mother started shooting Heroin into her her veins . . .would you stand by and applaud? Or try to convince to get help to stop? Love is powerful- and that's what makes me think it is my responsibility- and all other people who love someone in trouble- to make the effort. . . .
Cody Pearson
11:04 am on Saturday, March 23, 2013
Not sure if you are trying to contradict what you previously say every-time you post a new comment, or if it was just typos. But if my mom started shooting up Heroin, then yes I would tell her that I want her to stop, and that she needs help, but I would blame other people for her using. Everyone has freedom of choice, if she chooses to shoot up Heroin then that's what she wants. Its not her dealers fault, it's not my fault for not forcing her to stop, it's not the person who made Heroins fault. It is 100% her fault for 1. Starting the use of it 2. Spending her money on it and buying it 3. Getting involved with people who sell Heroin. I'm not going to get online and start blaming everyone else, I'm not going to tell people they are wrong for doing it. As long as there are 2 sides to a argument, then no one is 100% right, because someone will always side either with you, or side against you. You can think you're right, and they can think they're right, but as long as someone disagrees then no one can claim to be 100% right. So, I'm not saying you're wrong for what you have done, I'm just disagreeing with your reasoning behind it and your inability to have a debat. I started out with my opinion, and right off the bat you and Tawnya started to act like I was trying to recrute your kids into a Satan Hailing group. Everyone has their own opinions. I stated mine, you went off like a canon, instead of just respecting my thoughts and responding calmly with yours, you freaked out.

K2 isnt as bad as the media makes it to be iv smoked it for 6 months and seen nearly every side effect from jwh-018 such as hallucinations, paranoia, thinking im gonna die, but in moderation most side effects from it can be avoided also the ld-50 is rather hi so overdosing isnt easy( not that it isn't possible). From personal experiences iv noticed you get alot higher the more you inhale all at once, as a tolerance to each different brand builds up fairly quickly so if you smoke it for 2 hours staight you won't be as high as you were when you took your first hit. people are stupid for thinking its fake pot, its allot stronger And people just rip the shit out of it like its bud. But if you start out only smoking a little and build your way up it isnt nearly as bad for you because of the tolerance. One last thing, it doesnt cause increased heart rate...dumb smokers cause it. They'll b trippin on sum spice and feel theyre heart and tnink its beating fast then the paranoia kicks in you think your dying and at that point it starts to beat faster which may cause heart attacks.

brandon! Yeah- try to convince yourself what you are saying is true. You a merely self-justifying smoking this killer drug. I suffer from panic attacks. They feel just like heart attacks and make your heart beat fast and all that other stuff. But I have never heard of anyone dying from a panic attack. However . . .I have heard of documented cases of teenagers dying from heart attacks directly linked to K2. Do your homework, learn the facts and get off the shit. Your brain is fried.

What most people that have posted on this site/story about K2 is, that no matter what happens people are going to do what they want no matter the effects. I have smoked K2 a lot and have had no adverse side effects and I have taken massive hits. Every person that smokes this is different, not everyone will have the same effects from smoking it. Some may have one or two side effects, some may have more, and there are still others that wont have any. It all depends on the person. Trying to force someone to stop will always make it worse. For someone to stop, they have to want to stop. Its no different that any other addiction. Banning it wont help, there will always be a way to get drugs, illegal or other wise.

I've been smokin it for over a year n I have to say it has ruined my life/health, mood & financial state. If I could stop or warn someone before they start smoking it I would do whatever I could to stop them. I cough so bad I can't breathe its like a horrible itch in my throat. My kidneys hurt. N I'm so easily set off. I'm ready to take my life back. Spice has taken it from me! Stop if u r smokin n don't start this horrible drug if u haven't yet.

ok heres my story. I have been seeing someone for about 3 months and is now staying with me. He does drink and smokes pot daily. He spends all his time with me or at work. Well yesterday I see him light up what I thought was a joint. As I didnt hear of him getting any pot, I asked him where he got the pot. He tells me its not pot its K2. I of course flip out and want to flush it down the toilet. I did not notice any behavioral or physical changes. However, I am scared to death for him bc he has been depressed. I told him I don't want it here. He says its legal and herbal and not as bad as I think. How should I proceed in dealing with this? Or do I take a wait and see approach to see if he brings another fake joint here? I knew it wasnt pot bc it smelled and looked different to me.

If they can"t get pot, they will huff stuff. Or worst yet ,drink alcohol. When my daughter turned 21 I was relieved to see her smoke pot ,every now and then ,and not drink. Alcoholism runs on both sides of the family.I have been arrested more times than I care to remember for crap I done drinking. Never had any trouble with pot.

Good Lord! This is NOT about which drug is better for you and which isn't. ALL drugs- unless therapeutically prescribed and taken as directed are BAD! The point is- if someone want to get high- which is what it's all about really- they will find a way. It is the sole responsibility of the person making the choice. It is not the gov'ts fault for NOT legalizing pot in all 50 states. I am sooooo sick of THAT argument! It is a choice someone makes . . .to do or not to do drugs. Pot is a mind altering drug. So is alcohol. Spice is just a killer. But the end result is the same in so many cases. Being high leads to carelessness. Accidents and death. Get high on life- it's a beautiful world. If you are not to stoned to notice . . .

For RAIN:
Please don't think there is no way out of this. Altho there is no specific way that they treat addiction to this stuff . . .get yourself into a program quick as they can treat the withdrawal and get you the help you need to get off and stay off of this stuff! There is a very good program at the Salvation Army in Bradenton. I will find out all of the info- it si run by a Dr/Pastor. The fact is- this guy is good- the program has a very high success rate. Go to a hospital and tell someone in the ER what you are telling me. Please- I beg you- do NOT give up! There is help and people out there that want to help you!! I want to help. I want to help. Hang in and tomorrow I will post the name and # for the salvation army. You can also go to Manatee Glens and check yourself in. Please do something. Go to the Sheriff's station for help. They can't arrest you for being high on the stuff . . .but they can direct you to get the right help! I care . . .very much. Don't give up. How old are you Rain? Do you live locally? Keep writing to me, okay? You will be okay.

@Susan-
Hi Susan. I know how devestating this must be for you. Spice is addictive. If your son is in deep enough to be in Juvy . . .when he gets out, get him into a residential treatment program. Not a 30 day one. Try for 90. Dr. Sylvester- a renound pyschiatrist in FL tells me there is no set way to treat this addiction because of the amount of chemicals in it. So they treat it like any other addiction- and successfully so. Please do this for him- he will hate you for a while- but in the long run- he will thank you. Before this does permanent damage to his kidneys, heart or lungs . . .get him the help he needs. Please keep me posted. And write back to me as you would like. I would love to lend some support. BTW? My son had the worst asthma from the time he was two. But they treated it differently. He is now 27 and barely suffers. He was exposed to the smoke of the spice- and it irritated his throat and made him cough . . .but luckily . . .no asthma. I did ask another addiction psychiatrist about the harmful effects of breathing in the second hand smoke of this crap- and he said there were not many but to keep my son away from breathing it in. I feel for you- my heart and good wishes are with you! He can beat this if YOU remain tough.
