$14 Million Mad Hatter Sale Finalized

The deal closed last week.

Some Lutz and Land O’ Lakes area water customers will soon find themselves paying their bills to a different company.

The $14 million deal between the Florida Governmental Utility Authority  and Mad Hatter Utilities closed June 29, said Matthew Rihs, FGUA spokesman.

Former Mad Hatter customers will soon receive a letter from FGUA welcoming them to the utility and explaining what they can expect next, Rihs said.

More details are expected within a few days.
