5 Things Includes A History Lesson, Child’s Play

What do you need to know today, June 22?

It’s a busy Wednesday in and around Land O' Lakes. If you’re finding it hard to keep up with everything going on, here are five things to consider as you go about your day:

  • Rain might be on the horizon – While significant rains aren’t anticipated today, the rest of the week is looking pretty good for showers. Expect highs in the mid-90s today and lows in the 70s. If you are going to take advantage of going outside today, don’t forget to use sunscreen!
  • You can go for a walk – Pasco Health and Fitness plays host to its run/walk club this morning at 8 a.m. The group is open to anyone of any age at no charge.
  • Today is the anniversary of the G.I. Bill – On this day in 1944, Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the G.I. Bill, giving American soldiers better access to higher learning.
  • You can take the kids to play – Want an excuse to go to the mall? Stop by the Shops at Wiregrass today around 10 a.m. with the kids! They’ll have fun with the Wiregrass Ranchers Kids Club and you can get in a little window shopping.
  • You can take in a service – Churches throughout Land O’ Lakes offer Wednesday evening services. Check out the Patch Events calendar for times and locations.
