5 Things Includes A Yard Sale, Movies In The Park
What do you need to know this weekend?
The weekend’s here and there’s more than a few things going on around town. Here are five things to consider for April 16-17:
- The weather should be spectacular – It looks like we’ll have very nice weather for the weekend. Saturday will have partly cloudy skies, but highs in the mid-80s. Sunday should bring more of the same with lots of sunshine.
- You can go bargain hunting – A multi-family yard and bake sale is planned for April 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lake Padgett Estates East Clubhouse. Proceeds benefit the NTAF Southeast Kidney Transplant Fund to help Mark Melancon, a kidney transplant patient.
- You can watch a movie in the park – Acme Outdoor Movies kicks off its Movies in the Park series April 16 with “Raiders of the Lost Art.” The fun starts right after sunset.
- You can check out some serious bikes – The Shops at Wiregrass plays host to its Bike Night to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society April 16 starting at 5 p.m.
- You can take in a service – Churches throughout Land O’ Lakes offer Sunday morning services. Check out the Patch Events Calendar for times and locations.

I went to the garage sales down Collier Parkway and at The Groves. Lake Padgett had some of the best items up for grabs.
The only thing I wish is that sellers would price their items better. Lots of people priced their items way too high--$20 for 2 wire baskets?? One person marked a small frame for $1 and the original 50 cent price tag was on the back.
