The Cub Scouts of Pack 203 recently played host to a School-is-Out filed day to introduce potential new members to Scouting. The event took place June 4 at the Lexington Oaks playfield in Wesley Chapel.

Pack 203 serves boys ages 7 to 10 in both Wesley Chapel and Land O’ Lakes. It offers summertime programming in addition to regular school-year Scouting activities. Boys that want to try Scouting on for size are invited to do so this summer for only $10.

I was a Young Pioneer growing up in the former Soviet Union. I have great memories of that. Scouting movement is gaining new strength in the independent Ukraine.

This was a great event. The kids had a blast running through obstacle courses, having relay races, there was music, airbrush tattoos, hot dogs and hamburgers, swimming and just an amazing day. It was nice to see both the parents and kids having a great time.
