Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Discounted Nude 5K Registration Ends Soon

The entry fee is $30 through Sept. 27.

Want to cross "run a 5K in the buff" off your bucket list? There's still time to register for the upcoming Caliente Bare Dare at the discounted rate.

This is the third year the race will will held at the resort, but it is the first time the results will determine the national champions of nude running, according to race officials.

Nudity is not required to enter. In fact, your Land O' Lakes Patch editor will take on the challenge fully clothed. (And I will likely blame the weight of my clothing for my lackluster finish time.)

So far, runners from 12 states are registered to compete in the Sept. 30 event, which features a course that takes athletes from the Caliente clubhouse parking lot through the 125-acre resort and back.

Registration is $30 online at www.baredare5k.com through Sept. 27 and $35 the day of the race.

Day-of registration begins at the resort at 6:30 a.m. The race starts at 8:30 a.m.

The race entry fee also grants runners admission to Caliente for the day, along with post-race refreshments poolside and soft-fitted T-shirts, according to event organizers.

Caliente Club & Resort is located at 21240 Gran Via Boulevard in Land O' Lakes.

Planning to enter? We would love to hear from you. Email keli.sipperley@patch.com if you would like to share your race story on Patch.
