More than twice as many large contributions have come from Tampa residents for the campaign of Gov. Mitt Romney than to that of President Barack Obama.
Patch has created an interactive database so you can see just how much your neighbors are donating to the presidential campaign—and to which candidate they’re writing their checks. And we’ve included communities across Florida, so if you want to see what the campaign contributions in nearby towns are like, go right ahead.
As of the latest report in July, 334 contributions of greater than $1,000 have come from people who say they live in Tampa to the Republican nominee's campaign.
158 contributions of more than $1,000 in Tampa have been given to President Obama's re-election bid.
The information in the database was downloaded from the Federal Election Commission’s website. The data is based on quarterly reports, and is current through July. The data will be updated in mid-October.
