Florida Poll Puts Romney Ahead

GOP hopeful Mitt Romney has a three-point lead over President Obama, according to a new poll of Florida voters.

A new Gravis Marketing survey shows Romney leading Obama, 48%-45%, in Florida. As Christian Heinze notes, if you add Gary Johnson to the equation, he takes 1.7% from Romney and .5% from Obama. That means if the Romney-Obama gap is tight enough, Johnson could swing the state, which would be a bitter irony for the GOP, considering it shunned and blacked him out of primary debates when he was running for the Republican nomination.

Rubio Out to Sea When Romney Phoned

"Gov. Romney was gracious enough to call me on Friday evening that week," Marco Rubio told a crowd of 825 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. "I was out on boat with my kids. I came back and I had four missed calls from Mitt Romney. I go 'Uh-oh.' So I talked to him and he said we're going to be announcing our VP tomorrow and you're going to be excited about the pick I've made. "And I said, 'Well, that's really good news because I just bought a four-day cruise,' " Rubio said.

Will Isaac Trump Mitt?

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn told CNN's Early Start Wednesday that "politics will take second place" to public safety if a storm hits the bay area. Asked whether authorities would be prepared to call off the convention's proceedings if a storm threatened on a particular night, Buckhorn said, "Absolutely we're prepared to call it off."

The Bondi-Bush Show: Now That's a Ticket

PAM BONDI, JEB BUSH PART OF WEDNESDAY NIGHT LINEUP by John Kennedy of the Palm Beach Post. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and former Gov. Jeb Bush have been named part of the Republican National Convention lineup for Wednesday's third night of the event.

The economy - and soon-to-be Republican nominee Mitt Romney's ability to fix it - will be a central theme of the night. The GOP mantra for Wednesday will be "We Can Change It," said Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus.

Bondi and Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens are scheduled to share an early evening stage, shortly after 2008 presidential nominee John McCain addresses the gathering.  Bush will be on a little later, amid vice-presidential runners-up Rob Portman and Tim Pawlenty, who will speak before Romney running mate Paul Ryan takes the stage.

Vern No Longer in Top 10 Wealthiest... But Who's Counting Anyway? Rep. Vern Buchanan slipped out of the top 10 list of wealthiest lawmakers after reporting a drop of more than $5 million in his net worth. The congressman's $36.5 fortune ranks him 11th, just behind freshman Rep. Jim Renacci, who was worth at least $36.7 million in 2011.

Well this poll must be flawed because 60% of Floridians DO NOT APPROVE of the Romney/Ryan Medicare Plan. You shoud redo the poll !!

Do you actually have any clue as to what is actually in the RYAN plan? I thought not. And since Ryan will be the VP it's the President who's platform is followed. Just look at Obozo, you think he listens to much of anything laugh-a-minute Biden has to say?
BTW, there bas been an independent poll of FL seniors and they favor the Ryan plan 60-40. You must have missed it while you were busy reading The Nation.

Excuse me, why should we know what is in the Ryan plan? I thought we were suppose to pass bills, THEN read what's in them.

I ignore all polls and will have to include this one.

Scott Walker was losing Wisconsin to the liberal BIG TIME, that is until the votes started to get counted. Then he won by a landslide. I completely ignore the left wing Pravda major media.

Least we also forget Reagan, up until the very last minute, was supposedly getting creamed by like 18 points by Carter and he won by a landslide. The left will do anything in it's power to keep conservative voters thinking it is hopeless.

One of the highlights of my life was watching Wolf Blitzer go from ecstatic orgasimic joy over the prospect of Walker losing to looking like someone who just pooped his pants on live tv right in front of me on the screen. It was the most humourous and joyful moment I have ever spent watching CNN.
