This just in from the Tampa Bay Lightning:
The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Times Forum will open up the ice at the arena from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, for a free public skate.
The event is open to fans of all skill levels, but all interested must go to the Lightning's Facebook page to RSVP.
Parking is available at a discounted rate of $5 in the Forum West Lot located between the Times Forum and the Marriott Waterside.
All guests should enter through the XO VIP Entrance off the West Plaza. Skating sessions will last for 45 minutes with a Zamboni flood in between each.
Fans are encouraged to bring their own skates, but they will also be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Free water, cookies and popcorn will be provided. ThunderBug and the Lightning Girls will be on hand to help with raffles and giveaways during each session and mingle with all in attendance.
