Got mail?

If you use Gmail, checking to find out right now could be a problem.

Google’s Gmail service is unresponsive and won’t let users access their accounts. The outages have been intermittent and seem to affect the Land O' Lakes area and well beyond.

“Right now your mother is trying in vain to email you about Gmail being down,” the Comedy Central network tweeted on its Twitter feed a short while ago.

Word on what is causing the problem isn’t readily available. 

As Google works through the problems, the basic HTML version of Gmail seems to be working. Here is the link to sign in using this stripped-down version: http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=html.
