Have You Seen 'Dark Knight Rises'?

Were you among the many moviegoers worldwide who went to see the new Batman movie over the weekend. If so, what did you think?

Warning: Spoilers are possible in the comments below!

Millions of moviegoers were expected to flock to theaters this past weekend to check out "The Dark Knight Rises," the third and final chapter in director Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.

Several media outlets reported the movie raked in about $160 million at the box office, even despite the fatal shootings at a showing last week in Aurora, CO.

"The Dark Knight Rises" has already garnered a 94% positive review rating from critics, according to the movie review website Rotten Tomatoes, where 96% of viewers said they like it.

But you tell us:

What did you think of the movie?

Did it live up to its critically acclaimed predecessor, "The Dark Knight," which netted Heath Ledger a posthumous Oscar for his portrayal of The Joker?

Or are you skipping the lines and ticket prices at the theater and waiting for it to come out on DVD, on demand or Netflix?

I watched the movie at a packed IMAX theater in Sarasota on Sunday, and oh boy, did huge screen and sound kick up the intensity. The story kept me on edge throughout but once the movie started to wrap up to the big finish, it felt rushed where it needed another 30 to 45 minutes to explain some of the new background info viewers were presented. I know it was long already, but it was needed. Though someone told me that before editing the movie clocked in at 4 hours, so there's always a Director's Cut Blu-ray to fill in those gaps.

It was a Batman movie without Batman. He was visible in costume for all of 15% of the movie. Most of it was about Bruce Wayne whining and throwing a pouting tantrum about how miserable his life had become at his own hands. I found the entire picture to be dull and overly dramatic, punctuated by chaotic scenes of violence that were clearly an afterthought to the failed attempt to construct a deep storyline. It had more of the ring of an indy film crossed with a Spanish drama than a superhero movie... D+ territory at best.

Thank you Jason ... I thought it was just me and my poor hearing from too many Dead shows back in the day. A friend pointed out that Darth Vader also raspy masked voice. But I say at least Vader enunciated! I could not understand most of what the character was saying.

I'm not a fan of any of the Batman movies, so I can't say I'll go. However, my sister and nephew had planned to go see the movie, but they decided not to, out of respect for the victims.

I'm sorry I disagree with anyone who says out of respect for the victims they will not see this movie. The movie didn't cause the people to get shoot.

Basically it is like saying I'm going to change my plans due to some mentally distrubed person who, was being treated by his University up until he was no longer a student. Then even when his pyschitrist (spelling) tried to report it up the chain, they were told not to bother because he was no longer a student. What you have become are victims yourselves of this manics terrorism.

AMC movie threatres have set up funds for the victims. Actors from the movies have visited the victims. But to not watch this movie due to actions of a deranged individual is ridiculous to me. You are blaming the wrong entity. If the shooting happened at any other institution or something you enjoyed would you still stop doing those things? It's a movie that is all it is.

As for the movie I thought it was good, it wrapped up the trilogy nicely. Not as good as Dark Knight, but still a B+ to A- film.
