Is Chick-fil-A Anti-Gay Marriage? Flap Ensues After CEO Comments
The popular restaurant chain has come under fire after remarks the CEO made about emphasizing 'biblical values' in his business.
You can't tell by the long lines at Florida restaurants that there's a national online flap about Chick-fil-A and its outspoken CEO.
Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy has come under fire from online bloggers for comments he made in an interview with the Baptist Press.
In the interview, Cathy described his support for "the biblical defintion of the family unit," reports the Los Angeles Times.
“We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives,” Cathy said in the interview with Baptist Press.
The article noted that the popular restaurant chain trains workers “to focus on values rooted in the Bible.” Chick-fil-A's across the country are closed on Sundays for the Sabbath.
Several online bloggers wrote that Cathy's comments shows that the restaurant chain's leader is anti-gay marriage. The Los Angeles Times article reported about the online flap in an article headlined: "Is Chick-fil-A anti-gay marriage? 'Guilty as charged,' leader says."
Equality Matters, which support gay rights, issued a report examining donations by the restaurant company. In 2010, the company gave nearly $2 million to Christian-based groups that oppose homosexuality, according to Equality Matters.
Chick-fil-A has restaurants across Florida, including on Bruce B Downs Boulevard in New Tampa and Little Road in Trinity.

Mr. Cathy has every right to express his opinion and he is absolutely correct. Gays first claimed that they just wanted to be left alone to pursue their lifestyle. In a secular society, that is acceptable. Now, they have shown that it is not enough to be 'left alone'; you MUST agree with their lifestyle or you are a hate-monger. This country is being judged and will continue to be judged as long as we shake our puny fists in God's face and demand that HE change the standards to suit our evil lifestyles. We are a pathetic and doomed society.

If we don't agree with the gays and lesbians we are haters but they are the ones that tell us if we don't like it turn our heads, or turn the channel or turn our cheak. God will not be mocked. We will ALL be judged, just know that in the end it won't be us judging so be prepared! Quit whinning!

I submit that anyone who is offended by "biblical principles" et al....should eat their chicken sandwiches elsewhere. As a conservative and Christian American, I will now go the extra mile at least once a week to eat at Chick-Fi-La. It simply goes both ways.
I was taught to tolerate different ideas and lifestyles. Now, however, we need to always show that we Agree with their choices, we Embrace their lifestyle, that we will give our first-born son or daughter to the glbt alliance, and that we love all things " " "gay" " ", yadda, yadda, yadda....or we are Hate Mongers! We should be sued, defamed, possibly charged with crimes for failing to do all of the above!
What a crock! Go out and get some lives.

Thou shalt not kill pertains to man and not to animals. From the time of Noah, GOD has intended for man to eat the flesh of animals. Gen 9:3

So What! Anyone can not like homosexuals. And they can also believe they should not marry. Most normal people think this way. Whats wrong with this is, someone is trying to make an wrong issue out of someones beliefs. "Stirring" is one of their homosexual functions. Want to see what they really look like, call "act up"
