On Friday, March 23, eight bands will compete in Pasco to rock audience members' socks off.
One band will leave Rockus Maximus XV with the grand prize of 10 free hours of recording time at Morrisound Studio in Tampa and $1,000.
Rockus Maximus XV is the Pasco County Library System's Battle of the Bands, and it features young musicians from the Tampa Bay area and elsewhere.
There is also an online voting competition going on right now. The band that receives the most votes in the online competition will bring home a $500 gift card from Encore Music. A $250 card goes to the band with the second highest number of online votes.
Now, put your hands together for MBL Trio, one of the eight bands competing in the rock-off.
Patch: What are the names of your band members, what do they play, how old are they and where are they from?
Michael Lindo, MBL Trio:
Michael Lindo-18 years old-Lead Vocals, Guitar
Lorenzo Lindo- 16 years old -Bass
Ben Kennett-17 years old - Drums
We are all from Lutz, FL.
Patch: What style of music do you play?
Michael Lindo: Blues Rock
Patch: Why did you enter Rockus Maximus?
It was a great opportunity to get our name out there and meet some other local bands as well.
Patch: How long have you been together?
Michael Lindo: About 1 year.
Patch: What will you do if you win?
Michael Lindo: It would be awesome if we won!! We would definitely put that money toward some new equipment. The recording time would be great as well. We could get a song professionally produced, see how actual engineers work in studio and maybe we could learn some techniques we could use in self producing our own records.
Patch: What makes you the best?
Michael Lindo: We wouldn’t say we are the best. But we offer something very different from a lot of music today that we enjoy and that people we think can really enjoy as well.
