Michele Bachmann Plans to Visit Lutz on Sunday

The Republican presidential candidate will make a stop at Idlewild Baptist Church.

As Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann makes her way through Florida on tour, she plans to make a stop in Lutz this Sunday, Aug. 28.

Bachmann’s trip to Idlewild Baptist Church isn’t meant for campaign speeches or stumping for votes, however. She’s simply coming to worship, said Idlewild's Pastor Brian McDougall.

“I do know she’s coming here,” McDougall confirmed late Thursday afternoon. “She’s chosen Idlewild to worship.”

While Bachmann’s visit is an honor, McDougall said the church’s 6,000-plus parishioners can anticipate business as usual.

“We’re blessed by everyone that comes here,” said McDougall. “We’re going to do what we do every Sunday — preach God’s word. Every Sunday is a good Sunday.”
