Pasco Schools Will Open Monday

The district will conduct business as usual despite Tropical Storm Debby’s heavy winds and rain.

Pasco County students enrolled in summer programs won’t get a day off courtesy of Tropical Storm Debby.

According to district spokeswoman Summer Romagnoli, summer programs offered by the district will operate as normal tomorrow, June 25.

“The only exception is that the PEACE science camp has been rescheduled due to inclement weather,” she wrote in an email.

While most programs won’t be canceled, Romagnoli said students can take the day off with an excused absence if they wish to remain home due to the weather.

“The safety of our students and staff is our primary concern,” she wrote. “Parents of students attending summer programs may wish to contact the Transportation Department tomorrow morning at 727-774-0400, 352-524-0400 or 813-794-0400 if they are experiencing significant flooding in their neighborhood and need further assistance.”

As usual Pasco Schools are completely asleep at the wheel. Typical brilliant idea.
