Sheriff’s New Logo: What Do You Think?
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has rolled out a new logo meant to reflect the agency’s values and mission.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is sporting a new look it says reflects the agency’s drive to protect and serve while working with the community to keep the county safe.
The new logo, unveiled last week, incorporates the traditional five-star badge design inside a spear point. It even has a new motto: We Fight As One.
What’s the reason for the change?
"As the Pasco Sheriff’s Office continues to move forward, we need a symbol that represents our commitment to continuous improvement and fearlessness to be a leader in our profession,” said Sheriff Chris Nocco.
The tip of the spear, he said is meant to characterize “our mission to be in the forefront to protect our citizens.”
The motto “embodies our belief that every member is united in making our agency great and with our citizens we are going to ensure that Pasco is a safe county for all to enjoy."
The new logo was designed in-house by sheriff’s office employee Anne Hardin, said agency spokeswoman Melanie Snow.
So what do you think of the new logo, Land O' Lakes? Let us know by taking the poll or commenting below!

COULD HAVE USED A MORE APPROPRIATE WORD OTHER THAN "FIGHT"!
SERVE, PROTECT, ETC.

As for your awards stand point it is very busy. It would have to be full sublimation not engraved. Each Sheriff likes to place their names within the logo. Where would that go??? Food for thought....

While I laud the creativity of the Sheriff's Department employee, and I support Sheriffs (as being the local person we see as keeping us safe, as in "To Protect..." and being in a public service format, as in "To Serve..." ("To Serve and Protect), law enforcement, and first responders, I feel changing a motto to anything that has fight in it may send the wrong underlying message. I want law-abiding law enforcers to be and act above reproach, and treat people with respect, not as if they have to "fight" anything more than fighting true and real crime that needs to be fought (property crimes and crimes against a person and the like). Whatever happened to the simple "To Protect and Serve"? Does it not mean anything anymore? Are not law enforcers hired and badged (an oath, not just a piece of stamped metal behind it) to protect and serve the public. Changing the motto looks too much like the military. It looks too much like DHS and DOD have been insinuated into local law enforcement, and I do not think anyone wants that if you are half awake and can see what is really going on in the federal government. I want local law enforcement to be that, and not to have any more than indirect coordination with federal -- and even then, as little as possible. I think a simple "To Serve and Protect" motto is all we need. Get rid of military references and symbology and let's keep it all local.

I like it. They fight crime, that's what we need.. I saw this lady yelling "I pay your salery" at a sheriff for doing his job. Maybe she does but he risks his life every day to fight crime. I think the term serve leads people to believe they have the right to treat the Sheriff disrespectfully and if changing the motto is what they need to get the public on the right path..then so be it.
