Ted Schrader Apologizes to Pasco County

The Pasco County Commission Chairman was arrested over the weekend on a domestic battery charge.

Pasco County Commission Chairman Ted Schrader opened today’s meeting like any other with one exception. He took time out to apologize for recent actions that led to his Sunday, Feb. 3 arrest on a domestic battery charge.

“I apologize to my wife, my family for any embarrassment I may have caused,” Schrader said. He also apologized to the “employees of Pasco County and the citizens of Pasco County.”

To the residents who have supported him through the years, he said, “Hopefully, I can earn your trust.”

Schrader, who recently began his fourth term on the commission, was arrested Sunday following an incident over the weekend at his San Antonio home. Schrader’s wife, Julia, said he came into her bedroom Saturday morning around 9 a.m. and grabbed her arm and leg, leaving bruises, according to an arrest report.

Ted Schrader, 57, was booked into the Land O’ Lakes jail and was later released on $200 bond.

“This is a personal and private matter … I appreciate all your support,” Schrader said before moving on with the commission agenda.

What do you think Land O’ Lakes? Does Schrader’s arrest erode your trust in him? What do you think about his apology? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

Domestic violence ... he is disgusting! An apology doesn't cut it. We don't need the likes of him on the Board of Commissioners. He should resign.

Kley & Pollans are both right. What is amazing is that anyone trusted him in the 1st place, he has never been the person he represented himself to be and if you ever trusted him before the question would be why? Because the Pasco Times & Tribune told you so? Have the voters of Pasco ever taken the time to look back at who these cage liner/fish wrapper rags have recommended in the past. The TBT was recently exposed for its political bias and censorship of their chosen one's opponents: http://m.cltampa.com/tampa/tampa-bays-most-censored/Content?oid=2012007 Schrader should resign that would be an acceptable apology. Who but another wife beater could not have their unearned trust eroded?

First of all, there is two sides to every story, and one is INNOCENT until proven guilty!!! I have known Ted for 57 years and have NEVER even heard him raise his voice. The fact that it took 24 hrs to even call the police and make a complaint seems suspicious. Taking another 24 hrs for an arrest, then bail being set at $200 speaks for itself!!!!
Wait for the full story before you bash anyone!!!
This incident caused him to be banned from his home. Could this be coincidence??? I don't think so!!! There's a method to everyone's madness!!!

INNOCENT until shown guilty...remember!!! I have known Ted for 57 years and never heard him even raise his voice. 24 hours to call police, another 24 hrs for an arrest, then a $200 bail.....does any of that even sound logical. He was banned from his home because of his incident, I'm thinking "mission accomplished" wait until all facts come out before bashing anyone. There's a method to everyone's madness!!!

There are men whom serve there country with the possibility of loss of life. And When caught in this situation loose it all, job, respect, and future. Sorry, I have 0.0 respect or sympathy for anyone whom admits to disrespecting a women's personal space. Bye.
