Biden will visit Sarasota on Wednesday for a grassroots event. Tickets are being distributed today.
Vice President Joe Biden will visit Sarasota on Wednesday to campaign at a grassroots event.
Biden will speak at the Municipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamimi Trail, at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday; doors open at 9 a.m.
Tickets are required for the free event and will be distributed beginning from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at:
- Payne Park, 2050 Adams Lane, Sarasota
- Newtown Estates Park, 2800 Newtown Blvd.
Biden will also be in Ocala for another event at 3:10 p.m. the same day.
"While campaigning in Florida, Vice President Biden will lay out the vision he and the President share to create an economy that’s built to last versus going back to the same, failed top-down policies that crashed our economy," the Obama For America campaign released in a statement.
Sarasota appears to be the key place for candidates to visit. Gov. Mitt Romney visited Sarasota on Sept. 20 at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.

Will any reporter ask VP Biden who gave the order to not save our people in Benghazi? Will the Vice President give us an answer that is truthful? We have the father of a fallen Navy SEAL who lives and works in Sarasota. He and every Floridian deserves an answer about this massive cover-up.

Biden is coming to the circus city. Everyone turn out in your red rubber nose to make Biden feel right at home. Biden may even wear his from his debate.

Richard,
I've seen articles like this recently on both sides. I get the feeling that it's pretty even like the rest of the state were it all will fall in that statistical deviation.

GO JOE! If anyone thinks the last 4 years weren't the result of the previous 8, please go back to school and review the "cause and effect" chapter.

Joe Biden would make a much better President than Lyin Ryan! Go Joe! He has great experience and tells the truth.

The fallen Seal's father has repeatedly ask that his son's death NOT be made a political factor. Please respect his wishes.

I must admit to liking the speeches Vice President Biden gives. I do understand he is somewhat old fashioned in his patriotism and love for people. There is just something sweet about how he speaks of his family, his experiences growing up, and his time as a Senator. He reminds me that politics used be considered service to one's country, an honorable calling chosen by women and men with good ideas to help the USA become a better place for all its citizens. He hasn't used his service to get rich or become isolated from people. I am sure those who attend the rally in Sarasota will come away feeling good about the future of this country and optimistic that challenges can be overcome. Vice President Biden doesn't seem to focus much on doom and gloom. And with the storm news, I think people really want to be inspired to met challenges together.
