Some years ago, when I was driving home from work one evening back in Columbus, Ohio, I was listening to a popular local talk show on the radio during one of those times of the years when they counted listeners for Arbitron ratings. You can almost count on the subject matter to be controversial during times like this in order to get more listeners to tune in.
In this instance, the subject matter was about "Nudist Colonies" (as if we are Ants living a single mindset of some sort), and a listener called in to ask the question: "What's the point of going to such lengths to take your clothes off?"
In those days I didn't have a cell phone, but wish I did so I could've responded to his query.

Nudists, generally speaking, think at the other end of this question and say "What's the point of putting your clothes on in the first place?" It's hard for "textiles," that is, people who prefer to remain clothed most of the time, to get this because of years of their own conditioned thinking.
We were not born, or created as a species, with clothing. Clothing was originally used only to protect us from things such as the elements or occupational hazards. Only over time did clothing became a societal requirement in order to conform to the rules.

In other words, the Nudist life is the "natural" way to live, (which is why we are sometimes called Naturists) and wearing clothes would be the exception.
If this all sounds a bit twisted to your way of thinking it is because we as a society have been taught to conform. It's also why when the words nude or nudity are mentioned in the media we are almost always curious to know more or see what they're talking about. It's only natural to want to know more ...
