What's happening around town this weekend?

It’s the first weekend of summer and there are a lot of fun things going on in and around Land O’ Lakes. If you’re wondering what’s happening around town, here are a few ideas you might want to check out:

When/Where: Candlewood Community Church, 21418 Carson Dr., plays host to this event Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Women interested in getting into shape can enjoy this class that includes a variety of low-impact exercises, including yoga and Pilates.

Price: Free

When/Where: Organic Life, 1900 Oak Grove Blvd., Lutz, on Saturday, June 4, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: This is a fundraiser for Oasis, a pregnancy center. The event includes vendors, bounce houses and all-you-can-eat pancakes. Proceeds will help pay for an ultrasound machine.

Price: There’s no charge to attend, but breakfast costs $7 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and is free for kids under 3.

When/Where: The Shops at Wiregrass, 28211 Paseo Drive, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 4.

Why Go: The market features a wide variety of vendors, art exhibits and more.

Price: Free to attend.

When/Where: Land O’ Lakes Library, 2818 Collier Parkway, on Saturday, June 4, starting at 2 p.m.

Why Go: Children can register for the summer reading program while watching live entertainment courtesy of Jiggleman. The reading program encourages kids to keep up with books during the summer and offers them a chance to win prizes.

Price: Free

When/Where: This event takes place at 26304 Lexington Oaks Blvd. in Wesley Chapel from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4.

Why Go: The gathering includes games, a new Scout registration, a question-and-answer session with leaders and more.

Price: Free

When/Where: Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., Saturday, June 4, at sunset.

Why Go: You can watch the movie “Megamind” on a giant screen while enjoying the community center’s park. Don’t forget to bring some lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on.

Price: Free, but bring some money for refreshments that start at $1.
