Fun for you and the family this week.

At Land O’ Lakes Patch, we understand that being a mom is a hard job. To make it a little less so, we’ve put together this planner of kid-friendly activities you may want to check out in the coming week.

So, what’s going on you and your family might want to explore? Here are just a few things going on within a short drive from town:

  • Where/When: The plays host to this event for girls age 12 and under and their dads Feb. 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Why go: The dance provides a great chance for dads and daughter to bond and have some fun.
  • Pricing: $8 a pair.

  • Where/When:  The Land O’ Lakes Library will host this event for teens Feb. 18 starting at 7 p.m.
  • Why go: An opportunity for teens to get together in a supervised environment.
  • Pricing: Free

  • Where/When: The Fraternal Order of Police, Pasco Lodge 29, and the Road Dawgs of the U.S. Tampa Bay Chapter play host to this Feb. 19 event at 4420 Land O’ Lakes Blvd. The festivities get under way at 11:30 a.m.
  • Why go: This is a fundraiser for Kaitlyn Jenkins, a 7-year-old Land O’ Lakes girl. She was diagnosed recently with an aggressive, inoperable form of cancer.
  • Pricing: Entry into the concert is $10.

HARRY’S BIG ADVENTURE: MY BUG WORLD!

  • Where/When: The Museum of Science & Industry, 4801 E. Fowler Ave., offers a new exhibit starting Feb. 19.
  • Why go: This attraction features a large collection of virtual habitats and live insects. Visitors can see insects from all over the world, including tarantulas and ladybugs.
  • Pricing: $20.95 for adults; $18.95 for seniors; $16.95 for children ages 2 to 12.

DINO QUEST

  • Where/When: Lowry Park Zoo, 1101 W. Sligh Ave., offers this special attraction now through May 1.
  • Why go: This display features life-sized and animatronic dinosaurs. It’s a great bonus on top of the zoo’s regular attractions. The display features 20 different dinos.
  • Pricing: Varies based on membership status. Standard one-day tickets are $23.95 for adults, $21.95 for seniors and $18.95 for children age 3 to 11. Children under 2 are free and so is parking.
