February 7 is a big day for officials at the. That’s the day they’ve been given the green light to officially open up for business.

According to a media release issued today, the hospital’s “move plan” will go into effect next Tuesday. This calls for moving all the patients at New Port Richey’s Community Hospital to the new campus. The only exception involves patients in the Behavioral Health Program.
The old campus will remain open for behavioral health patients and will take on the new name, Medical Center of Trinity – West Pasco Campus.
“Our plan has been reviewed and practiced and is focused on a safe move for our patients ensuring their care and comfort through every step of the process,” said Leigh Massengill, chief executive officer, in the media release.
Tuesday is also the first day the Trinity facility will offer emergency services. The brand new emergency room will open its doors at 7 a.m. Trinity’s emergency room features private treatment rooms.
While the hospital will open for business Tuesday, not everyone is welcome to visit the campus that day.
“Access to Medical Center of Trinity will be limited to the hospital’s healthcare team, registered visitors for patients transferred from Community Hospital and those needing emergency care,” the media release states.
Regular visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Feb. 8.
“We understand the uniqueness of opening a new hospital and we look forward to sharing Medical Center of Trinity with our community,” said Massengill.
