Top 10 Places To Volunteer

The Land O' Lakes community offers many places for people who wish to volunteer.

As the New Year approaches, many of us will resolve to get more active in the community. Fortunately, there are some great places in and around Land O' Lakes looking for extra hands.

The Land O' Lakes Volunteer Fire Department is one of those places.

Scott Burford, one of two district chiefs at the department, said they are just looking for people in Pasco who are willing to serve.

"We are looking for people who are dedicated," Burford said. "It is a good gig for those who want to become a career firefighter as well as people who just want to volunteer. We have a lot of guys who do it because they love it."

Haley is a short 13 miles down Livingston Rd from SR 54 or Collier Blvd. Call 972-2000 and ask the operator for Voluntary Services.
