Hang ‘Em High is Ready to Rock

The four-piece group from Pasco and Pinellas is preparing to tear it up during Rockus Maximus.

Eight bands enter, but only one can walk away the victor of Rockus Maximus.

Talk to the guys behind Hang ‘Em High and it becomes clear they’re in it to win it.

With two members from Palm Harbor, one from Holiday and the final from St. Petersburg, the four-piece band says it has the style and presence to wow the crowds during Pasco County Libraries’ Rockus Maximus 16.

Rockus Maximus is the library system’s annual battle of the bands. It’s designed to give young bands a forum to play while also providing them an opportunity to walk away with some serious prizes, including free recording time at Clearwater’s Clear Track studios.

The members of Hang ‘Em High recently took some time out from rehearsing to answer some questions for Patch readers:

Patch: Who are the members of Hang ‘Em High?

Band: Dirty Sean - 24 - Lead vocals/Lead guitar
Nathan Blaze - 19 - Scream vocals/Rhythm guitar
Rob Grizzly - 23 - Back up Vox/bass Guitar
Zakk e. Savage- 18 - Back up Vox/Drums

Patch: What type/style of music do you play?

Band: We play music that is like none other. We like to call it Rock N F----- Roll.

Patch: How long have you been together?

Band: One year on Feb. 22

Patch: What started you rocking?

Band: The passion to make music and see the world while giving people a chance to hear REAL true music.

Patch:  Why did you all decide to get involved in Rockus Maximus?

Band: We got involved in Rockus Maximus 16 so we can gain more exposure
and get our music into the right hands

Patch:  What sets you apart from other bands?

Band: The simple fact that we want to do it for the music and our music is like none other.

Patch: Do you have a website? Facebook page?

Patch:  Where do you hope to see your band 5 years from now? 10?

Band: Headlining Donington Festival (in the U.K.).

Patch:  Anything else you'd like to add?

Band: We would just like to say it is a great opportunity to do Rockus Maximus 16 and we can't wait to get our music out there in the world into the fans of true fans.

The battle takes place March 22 at the Rotary Pavilion at the Concourse, 15325 Alric Pottberg Road in Shady Hills. Admission is free with a library card. All told, this year’s battle has $6,000 in prizes on the line.
