Looking Ahead in 2014

2014 promises to be an exciting and challenging year beginning with the January rollout of our new website, pascovotes.com. We are well into preparations for the Municipal Elections slated this April 8, 2014, including an updated Question and Answer Guide for Municipal Candidates and the scheduling of candidate workshops. Several candidates have already filed, and official qualifying is from February 11th – 18th.  Plans are already in place for training our army of pollworkers for the upcoming Fall 2014 election cycle, including an upgrade of our pollworker training videos.  The voter registration staff is winding down the verification of over 70,000 initiative petitions for proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution, and will begin updating the voter registration files in accordance with statutorily prescribed voter list maintenance.

Our 2014 Voter’s Guide and Guide to Government Officials are now available at www.pascovotes.com. Whether you’re a first-time voter, a new voter to the state of Florida, or a seasoned voter, the Voter’s Guide contains information to help you become an effective and empowered voter. The Guide to Government Officials contains contact information for all representatives at the federal, state and county level.  I would encourage all citizens to review these publications for more information on how to register, check your registration status, update your information, order a “vote by mail ballot”, or contact your elected officials.

As we begin yet another year, I want to assure you of my office’s commitment to excellence in our service to the public.  Please partner with us in ensuring another successful election year by doing your part in taking the responsibility to have your voice heard by voting.  If there is anything my office can do to assist you in this responsibility, do not hesitate to contact us by calling 800-851-8754.
