Get A Grip Total Fitness Opens Its Doors

New fitness studio has everything under one roof.

Sweat was the topic of conversation as Get A Grip Total Fitness recently held its official grand opening.

While there are many fitness studios and gyms out there, Get A Grip Total Fitness offers an approach that's a little different, its owner said. To make sure members get the services they need, the facility offers a variety of training programs. Boot camps, kettlebell training, yoga, nutrition counseling, metabolic testing and even life coaching are among the offerings.  The studio also offers free body transformation consultations.

This is a one-stop training center for all of health and fitness needs, said Carrie Kukuda, owner.

Kukuda, a board certified personal trainer and life coach, has worked for 17 years in the health, fitness and nutrition fields. She is dedicated to helping people achieve their health and fitness goals, she said.

Unlike other fitness gyms and studios, Get A Grip Total Fitness only takes 100 members. After that, clients go on a waiting list.

“This allows us to give the best possible service to our members,” said Kukuda as she moved around the studio passing out goodie bags to those attending the open house.

The boot camp training includes three days of camp, strength training, cardiovascular training, customized meal plans, coaching, motivation, a success manual and even a scorecard. The training is held in the studio and sometimes even outside.

The yoga program is restorative, center officials said.

“We focus on taking care of the physical stress the body receives during boot camp training,” said Jamie Blessinger, the studio's yoga instructor.

Potential members who are unsure if they can handle boot camp, kettlebell training or yoga, will find they can try programs on for size. The first class is free. Another free service offered is a running club. Three days a week members of the club meet and run outdoors.
