Stumped On Where To Find A Christmas Tree?

There are a few lots still open in Land O' Lakes with plenty of trees to choose from.

The clock is running out on Christmas 2010, but that doesn't mean there still isn't time to deck the halls. A few places in Land O' Lakes are still offering live trees for sale.

At the corner of State Road 54 and Catfish Lake Road, last-minute shoppers will find a seasonal store that opens up every year around this time. Stocked with Scotch pines, Fraser firs and many other traditional trees, along with wreaths and other decorations, this lot will remain open until its stock sells out, workers said. It's open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. most days and will likely be open Christmas Eve if stock remains.

For Chris Conn and her two children, Emily, 12, and Zachary, 15, that was good news. The family was out earlier this week trying to pick out the perfect tree for their home.

"We decided to finally get a tree," explained Chris.

Tree shoppers will also find that Holloway's Farm Supply, 3036 Land O' Lakes Blvd., also has a stock of trees. This location is offering 6-to-7-foot Fraser firs starting at $29.99, said Joey Holloway, owner.

Holloway allows another seller to use his property for tree sales this time year. He said the lot is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. most days.

"If he's got trees (on) Christmas Eve, he'll be open," Holloway said.
