Fasano Looking into Suncoast Meadows Landfill Concerns

Lennar is accused of building homes on top of a former landfill.

Homeowners in Suncoast Meadows who are concerned about living on the site of a former landfill might have help on the way courtesy of state Sen. Mike Fasano.

According to The Tampa Tribune, Fasano, R-New Port Richey, has asked Pam Bondi, Florida’s Attorney General, to launch a review of the documents Lennar provided buyers when they purchased homes.

"I have great concerns that the building company did not adequately notify the residents of the issues with the landfill before they bought their homes," Fasano wrote in his letter. "As you can see from the disclosure statement and the manual, … there is only minor and nondescript mention of a small area of debris in the neighborhood, not the landfill that existed under each home."
