Being a mom is no easy job! At Land O'Lakes Patch, we want to help make it a little less hectic. That’s why we’ve put together this planner of kid-friendly activities you may want to check out with the family in tow.

  • Where/When: Shops At Wiregrass, 28211 Paseo Drive, Wesley Chapel. Wednesday at 10 a.m.
  • Why Go: Kids ages 12 years and younger are invited for a morning of free entertainment including kid-friendly games, music, and much more. This week's program features a performance by Gator Crusader.
  •  Free.

  •  Where/When: Land O' Lakes Branch Library, 2818 Collier Pkwy. Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
  • Why Go: Parents along with their infants ages 0 to 12 months will participate in a variety of fun and educational tasks that promote growth and development. Youngsters will enjoy games, music and storytelling. Seating is limited and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Free.

  • Where/When: The Land O’ Lakes Recreation Complex Feb. 11 from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
  • Why Go: The Land O' Lakes Recreation Complex opens its door to toddlers ages 3 and under and their parents each Friday for Toddler Time. The event gives children a chance to socialize while developing coordination and motor skills through play. 
  • Free.

2011 Chasco Fiesta

  • Where/When:  Sims Park and Orange Lake, Bank St & Grand Blvd. Daily through April 3. Gates open at 5p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends.
  • Why Go: Plan ahead for a family trip to New Port Richey for the 2011Chasco Fiesta. This eleven day festival celebrates Native American culture and history with an array of daily events for the public. This weekend, families will enjoy carnival rides, Native American Pow Wow, and Sand Soldiers of America Street Parade.
  • Free, fee for food and rides.

  • Where/When: Lowry Park, 7525 N Boulevard. Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
  • Why Go: Join Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful and Tampa Bay Beautification for Tampa's Reuse-A-Palooza, an event designed to raise awareness of recycling in the community. Open to Hillsborough residents of all ages, visitors will participate in an array of fun and educational activities throughout the day. There will be a Recycle Regatta boat building competition, recycling resources displays, cleanup activities and a birthday party for Tampa Bay's Pete the Pelican Pirate.
  • Free!

Dinosaur Train’s “Buddy the TRex” Meet and Greet

  •  Where/When: Lowry Park Zoo, 1101 W Sligh Ave. Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m.
  • Why Go: "Buddy the TRex," of PBS' Dinosaur Train television program will make an appearance this weekend at Lowry Park Zoo. Buddy will meet with fans, pose for photos and sign autographs. Kids may also enjoy a ride on the zoo's Overland Express train ride, fun games and activities.
  •  Adults: $23.95, Seniors: $21.95, Children (3 - 11): $18.95
