I-75 Traffic Delays Planned Late Friday, Early Saturday

The Florida Department of Transportation is slowing traffic between Interstate 4 and Bruce B. Downs March 15-16 so it can install a sign.

Land O' Lakes area motorists might want to avoid Interstate 75 in the wee hours of Friday, March 15 if they can.

The Florida Department of Transportation has announced that it’s going to pace traffic around 15 mph on northbound I-75 from just north of Interstate 4 to just south of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. The pacing is planned to begin late Friday night and continue through about 4 a.m. Saturday, March 16. Local law enforcement officers will be on hand to help with the pacing.

Traffic also won’t be allowed to get onto northbound I-75 at either Fowler or Fletcher avenues “until the front of the traffic pacing has passed the entrance ramps,” a FDOT media release states.

“Delays of around 20-30 minutes can be expected on northbound I-75 and on the ramp from westbound I-4 to I-75 (Exit 9), as well as on the crossroads near the ramps at the interchanges in these areas.”

The pacing is required so the department can install a sign structure over the northbound lanes just south of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
