Man Arrested for Threatening Employees at 2 Hospitals
Morton Plant Behavioral Center and Morton Plant North Bay Hospital were on lockdown Thursday.
Morton Plant Behavioral Center in Lutz and Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey were placed on lockdown Thursday when a man threatened both locations.
Jonathan Periana, 27, of 4105 Banjo Lake Road in Land O' Lakes, first called Morton Plant and said he would shoot employees if his wife, who had been detained under the Baker Act, was not released, according to a Pasco County complaint affidavit.
He also called Northbay Hospital and threatened to "shoot the hospital up with an assault rifle," the report says.
Periana later showed up to Morton Plant Behavioral Canter, where he was told by employees to leave but he refused, the report says.
Periana was arrested at the hospital. He is charged with assault on health services personnel and trespass after warning.
Officers found a "toy AK47 assault rifle" in Periana's vehicle, according to the report.
Periana is being held in the Land O' Lakes jail on $5,000 bond.
