'Vicious and Very Bizarre' Crime Lands Pasco Deputies on National TV

It remains in Sergeant James Sessa's mind as one of the most horrific crime scenes he's worked in his long career: A mother and housewife-turned-porn-star and her boyfriend butchered a man she met on Craigslist.

And this Sunday, the bizarre story of Dennis Abrahamsen's murder will be retold in an episode of Snapped: Killer Couples on the Oxygen Network.

Pasco Sheriff's Office Major Crimes detectives William Lindsey, James Gariepy, Daniel Toner and their supervisor, Sessa, will appear on the episode to discuss the investigation and subsequent arrests of Amanda Logue and Jason Andrews.

Sessa said he wasn't surprised when the show's producers contacted the sheriff's office about the 2010 murder in New Port Richey.

"The elements of this crime were vicious and very bizarre," Sessa said during a Friday press conference. "Unfortunately, that's what the public likes."

Logue was first identified as a suspect in the brutal crime, in which Abrahamsen was bludgeoned to death with a sledgehammer in his home.

The crime has all the elements of a movie, which is why it continues to draw interest: sex, drugs and murder.

"It's a fascinating story," Lindsey said. But unfortunately, it's not just a made-for-Hollywood story.

"It's a tragedy," he said. "How does a housewife turn into this monster?"

Lindsey said Abrahamsen's family also was interviewed for the episode.

"They're involved and they know," he said.

The sheriff's office has not seen the episode, nor did the organization have any say in its production, however spokesman Doug Tobin said the sheriff's office stressed the importance of staying true to the facts of the case.

"Viewers need to understand (Logue) is a killer and not a victim," Gariepy said.

The detectives hopes viewers will see the episode and realize that precautions need to be taken when responding to ads or meeting strangers.

"People need to realize there are people out there that are monsters," Lindsey said. "You have no idea what their intentions are."

The episode will air Sunday, March 10, at 10 p.m. Eastern Time.
