We asked, you answered.
When we asked readers what business they would bring to Land O' Lakes if they could open any business in town, and what Land O' Lakes needs most, the replies came quickly.
Here is what our Facebook fans had to say:
Susan L. Strickland: A way for teens to get out and around, more safe sidewalks, and a place for them to work at part-time jobs. And a vegetarian restaurant!
Tiffany Thomas: I agree with Susan!
Joanne Ferro Branham: A good used bookstore
Denise Bentley: More restaurants
Andrea DeLorenzo: Sweet Tomatoes and a Lifeway Christian bookstore
John Sposa: An IHOP and a DQ close to LOL High School

business practices.. A few fun facts to consider: Alice Walton ,1 of 6 heirs to the Walton fortune is worth 21 Billion dollars She spent..Not her money mind you , but money from a "foundation" on an art museum in Arkansas where 1 painting cost 35 million dollars http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/27/arts/design/crystal-bridges-the-art-museum-walmart-money-built-review.html?pagewanted=all Most Walmart associates get paid $8.81an hour on average Just yesterday 100 women lost their lives in a factory fire in Bangladesh that was one of the main suppliers for WalMart clothing. http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-11-25/at-least-124-killed-in-fire-at-bangladesh-garment-factory Their hourly income...18 -20 cents an hour..Walmart claims that particular supplier is not used anymore.. Honestly I would like to see Co-Op locally owned business prevail that could hire, involve and train our youths coming up who for what ever reason need a positive direction in life.....Please know when Big Box stores take your money it leaves the area...Never to return anytime soon..
A fetish store would do well A mom and pop owned chick filet A country bar. Any business that will support each other, promote each other, and is here for the well being of the community. Big box is not the answer!
