Dogtoberfest

On Sunday, October 20, from noon until 6 p.m., The Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel, Florida will host the third annual Dogtoberfest (www.DogtoberfestTampa.org) made possible by a grant from an ASPCA Mega Match-a-thon and sponsored by the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Tampa Cat Crusaders, Animal Based Charities, PetsMart Charities, The New Barker, The Tampa Tribune and The Shops at Wiregrass to benefit homeless, neglected and abused animals in greater Tampa. This event features more than 75 animal rescue organization and animal-related product vendors, a doggie fun zone with agility and fly ball demonstrations, pet adoption opportunities and pet costume contest. Costume contest registration is a suggested $3 to $5 donation and begins at noon. Judging for the pet costume contest takes place until 2:30 p.m. with awards at 3:30 p.m. for cutest, scariest, best pet look-alike, best celebrity look-alike, best homemade costume and judges’ choice.
