During the month of November the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office held a promotion to raise funds on behalf of Support Our Troops, an organization dedicated to strengthening the morale and well-being of America’s active duty troops and their families. The specialty Support Our Troops license plate was the featured tag of the month. Due to the excellent work of the tax office’s customer service representatives, 70 Support Our Troops tags were sold throughout the month. Each tag generates a $20 donation to Support Our Troops for this year and every subsequent year it is renewed. Additionally, funds were raised through the Support Our Troops tag renewal check-off as well as straight cash donations totaling $6,286.57. All combined, Support Our Troops received $7,686.57 in donations.
“It was a blessing to make November, the month in which we celebrate Veterans Day, the time to feature the Support Our Troops license plate,” Mike Fasano states. “The brave men and women who leave their families behind to protect our great nation deserve everything we can do for them. The Pasco County Tax Collectors Office is pleased to have played a small part in raising funds for this excellent cause.”
