30 Days to Change Your Whole Life

Spending most of my life as a morbidly obese woman I never understood the connections between how I felt and what I ate.

Even after losing over 200lbs, I still didn't quite "get it." That wasn't until I recently came across a new way of eating called the Whole 9.

The concept of the Whole 9 is based on the book by Dallas & Melissa Hartwig entitled "It Starts With Food." http://whole9life.com/itstartswithfood/

I read this book and all sorts of light bulbs started going off in my head. I thought I was eating healthy, I was staying within my Weight Watchers points, and I was maintaining my weight. But I was still needing caffeine to wake-up in the morning. I was still needing an afternoon pick-me-up.

Their plan challenges you to change your life in 30 days simply by eliminating certain foods from you diet. In my case, I thought because I already was gluten free, sugar free, etc., that this would be easy for me. It wasn't.

I learned some very important things.
1) I ate too much fruit
2) I drank too much coffee
3) sugar and corn is hidden in EVERYTHING
4) I drank too much beer
5) I ate too many beans

And more.....

Notice I put my items in the PAST tense!!

The Whole30 really opened my eyes to the way food was making me feel and if I eat the right foods for my body, AMAZING things will happen!!

I'm currently on my 2nd "round" of the Whole30 program, and will likely roll right in to a 3rd round starting September 24th?

Why??

It's so easy to allow those bad habits to trickle back in to your life. It's so easy to add that coffee to your creamer ;)

I am a social person. I like people. Really, I do. I am doing this Whole30 round by myself. The first time I did it, I had the support of dozens of other people who were going through the same "withdrawal" symptoms that I was.

I need that support. And that is why I will do it again.  Support keeps me accountable. And our "leader" Debbie Forbes walks the walk, and talks the talk.
