Auto Burglar Caught by Victim Charged in 4 More Crimes

Pasco deputies say the suspect broke into at least eight vehicles on July 17.

A that ended when an intended victim caught the suspect in the act was a little larger than originally thought. Pasco County Sheriff’s Office detectives have since charged the suspect with four more burglaries.

The original arrest came when the suspect broke into a car parked on Waterbury Court in Lutz around 5:20 a.m. July 17, a Pasco County complaint affidavit said. While the would-be burglar was in the process of taking a music CD, some paperwork and three lottery tickets from a Buick Century, the car’s owner confronted him.

The victim, the affidavit said, detained the suspect until Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene.

Pasco deputies were able to immediately connect the suspect to three other auto burglaries that took place in the area July 17. Two of the burglaries took place on Norwick Drive in Lutz, and one occurred at the , 22722 State Road 54, in Land O’ Lakes.

After further investigation, the suspect was charged July 19  in connection with four other auto burglaries on July 17. These auto burglaries took place on Crow’s Nest Court, Twin Palms Loop, Norwick Drive and Foggy Ridge Drive, deputies said.

Following the original arrest, the suspect said he was aided by several co-defendants. While no other arrests have been made, the case remains under investigation, said Pasco County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kevin Doll.

Arrested was Brendyn Tyler Marsee, 19, of 22825 Sterling Manor Loop in Lutz. He is now charged with eight counts of auto burglary, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. He was being held in the Land O’ Lakes Jail on $42,300 bond.
