A 24-year-old Land O’ Lakes man remained in jail Thursday after Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say he assaulted the man who was informing him he was being evicted.
According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, the victim had just told the man that he was being evicted from his home at 24727 State Road 54, Apt. 3, when the man “began to laugh.” The man then struck the victim on the back of the head, causing him to fall to the ground and twist his knee.
The man then fled the scene before deputies arrived but was later caught.
The victim was taken to a hospital by a family friend but had no visible injuries.
Daniel Quinnell was arrested Aug. 10. He was charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or older. His bond was set at $5,000.
