Land O' Lakes Man Charged in Prostitute Rape

Deputies say the Land O' Lakes man may be charged in other cases in both Pasco and Hillsborough counties.

A Land O' Lakes man was arrested Thursday evening on suspicion of picking up a prostitute and driving her to a vacated residence to rape her at knife point.

Nathan Christopher Floyd, 29, of 21376 Snook Circle, was arrested after the victim identified him in a photopack. Floyd admitted to having sex with the woman, whose name is not being released, but said he didn't use the switchblade knife he had on his person.

This particular incident took place on Nov. 1, 2011. According to the arrest report, Floyd drove the victim to a vacant residence at 26438 Brahma Drive in Wesley Chapel and placed an open knife blade againt her throat.

Floyd then demanded the victim remove her pants and underwear and that she could "do it the easy or hard way" and that he would not hurt her if she cooperated. He then forced her to have sex while still holding the knife against her throat, the report said.

Floyd then drove the victim several blocks away and left her on the roadside. He was picked up after the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office issued a BOLO.

Floyd may face more charges related to similar attacks on other prostitutes in Hillsborough and Pasco counties, officials said. Other women have positively identified Floyd through a photopack.

Kevin Doll, spokesman for the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, said Floyd is suspected of picking up prostitutes in Hillsborough County and driving them to wooded areas in Pasco County to rape them.

Floyd has been charged with sexual battery with a deadly weapon and is being held at the Land O' Lakes Jail on $25,000 bond while Hillsborough and Pasco deputies continue their investigation.

Deputies are encouraging anyone who may have been raped to come forward. Doll said victims will not be be charged with solicitation for coming forward.
