Land O' Lakes Man Charged with Child Abuse

He was arrested for repeatedly striking a teen in the head, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

A Land O’ Lakes man was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with child abuse after striking a 16-year-old boy repeatedly in the head, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred at about 9 p.m. Wednesday night. The deputy who responded to the call “observed and photographed extensive bruising to the victim’s face,” a compliant affidavit stated.

According to the report, Charles Edward White, 42, of 25530 Conesta Drive was located and placed under arrest shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday, March 15.

Post-Miranda, White admitted that he struck the boy “with an open hand,” the report stated.

White's relationship to the boy was not disclosed by the sheriff's office so as not to identify the victim.

White was released from the Land O’ Lakes jail today, March 16, on $5,000 bond.
