Land O' Lakes Man's Life Saved By Deputy, Off-Duty Police Officer

Rescuing the man was 'just awesome,' deputy says.

A Land O’ Lakes man’s life was saved by the quick actions of an off-duty Tampa Police officer and Pasco County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

The effort was recounted in a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

Jordan Russel, who is a Tampa Police officer, saw his neighbor collapse and began CPR after calling 911, according to the post. Deputy Peter Robbins then arrived and continued CPR efforts for another 7-8 minutes.

The 64-year-old neighbor was hooked up to an automated external defibrillator and eventually gained a heartbeat and began breathing on his own.

“It made my day and the fact I was able to help save this man’s life is just awesome,” Robbins said.
