Man Broke into Home, Dragged Woman By Hair, Punched Her

He entered her bedroom through an unlocked window, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

He broke into a woman's Land O' Lakes home, dragged her outside and punched her in the face, deputies say.

Then he left the scene, but not before trying to make sure she couldn't call for help.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Ryan Allen Maples, 27, of Lutz entered the woman's bedroom through an unlocked window at about 3:55 a.m. Saturday. Maples then pulled the woman by her hair through the open window into the enclosed outdoor porch, then grabbed her by her neck and punched her in the face, an arrest report stated.

Maples threw the woman's cellphone against a concrete wall and left the home, according to the report.

The phone was damaged but functional, the report stated.

Maples of 18508 Amber Drive was arrested and charged with burglary with assault/ battery. He remained in the Land O' Lakes jail Monday in lieu of $50,000 bond.
