Man Jailed for Stabbing His Wife Twice

A domestic dispute turned violent, Pasco Sheriff's Deputies say.

 

A Land O’ Lakes man has been jailed on attempted felony murder charges after Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say he stabbed his wife twice.

According to a media release, Michael Monaco, 40, and his wife were engaged in a verbal argument when things turned violent. Monaco is said to have stabbed his wife twice in the chest, leaving two wounds that required 13 stitches to close.

“He also attempted to cut her throat with a kitchen knife,” said sheriff’s office spokesman Doug Tobin in the media release.

Monaco of 17831 Ayshire Blvd. in Land O’ Lakes was charged with attempted felony murder. He was being held at the Land O’ Lakes Jail today without bond.

Tobin is not releasing the wife’s name at this time and other details about the crime are not yet available. The woman is expected to recover, Tobin said.
