Man Shot After Basketball Court Argument

The victim's injuries are not thought to be life threatening, officials say.

Pasco County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting that took place in Wesley Chapel's Northwood subdivision tonight.

According to sheriff's office spokesman Kevin Doll, a 20-year-old man was shot in his vehicle after leaving the scene of an argument that took place on a basketball court in the subdivsion. Northwood is located off County Line Road, just east of the Interstate 275/75 overpass and Lutz.

The shooting, Doll said, took place near the intersection of La Jolla Way and Northwood Palms Road. The victim was shot in the side and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening, Doll said.

No further details about the victim were available, Doll said. Information about a suspect was also not immediately available.
