A mother of a 12-year-old Land O’ Lakes boy apparently had enough of her son’s thieving ways.
The mother, who lives with the boy on Tollison Loop, called authorities after the son went into her locked bedroom and stole a $300 Motorola cellphone.
The youth has an “extensive history of burglaries and grand thefts” and is on probation for the next four years, the mother told authorities, adding she keeps her bedroom “under lock and key” because the youth “likes” to steal from her.
According to an incident report, the boy admitted he broke into the bedroom to obtain the phone by prying open the door. He was arrested Friday, Sept. 6 and charged with burglary and grand theft.
