Pasco Deputies Help Search for Missing Monkey
The pet got out of a car near State Road 52 and U.S. 41.
Pasco County deputies are used to getting flagged down by motorists in need of assistance, but it’s not every day a man asks for help locating a missing monkey.
That’s what happened this morning at the corner of State Road 52 and U.S. 41, according to a sheriff’s office media release. A man told a deputy he lost his pet monkey near the Hess gas station.
“Apparently it jumped out of their car,” wrote Kevin Doll, sheriff’s office spokesman, in the media release.

Deputies helped search for the animal, which was lost in the woods. While the search had been officially called off around 8:30 a.m. today, April 5, it was unclear if the animal had been found. The sheriff’s office doesn’t have information on the type of monkey yet either.
