Radar Love Not Likely for Suspected Porsche Thief

Deputies say the man was driving a car that was reported stolen in Harris County, Texas.

When a Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy clocked a Porsche Panamera speeding on U.S. 41 early this morning, it’s not likely he knew he was about to solve an auto theft case out of Harris County, Texas.

That, however, is exactly what officials say happened.

According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, a deputy clocked a black Porsche doing 69 mph in a 50 mph zone just after midnight Sept. 18. When the deputy pulled the car over near U.S. 41 and Dupree Drive in Land O’ Lakes, the driver was unable to produce a license. He told the deputy it had been suspended, the affidavit said.

When the deputy tried to run the car’s Texas plates, a Pasco County dispatcher confirmed the car had been reported stolen in Texas.

Yves Baroulette, 30, of 9405 Chalet Drive, Apt. 1307, in Tampa was arrested on grand theft auto and driving on a suspended license charges. He was being held in the Land O’ Lakes Jail today on $5,000 bond.
