Shooting Victim Dies From Injuries

The man, now identified as Timothy Leigh Skowronski, of Eastport Drive in Wesley Chapel, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, authorities say. Incident now classified a homicide.

A Wesley Chapel man hospitalized after being shot at his residence Wednesday has died from his injuries.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says the man, now identified as Timothy Leigh Skowronski, of Eastport Drive, died at St. Joseph's Hospital. The case is now considered a homicide.

Authorities had initially misstated the 31-year-old's age.

The shooting incident unfolded Wednesday event at 30122 Eastport Drive. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says an unknown gunman came to the house, where four people were inside at the time, via the back porch. Authorities used K-9 and air search to locate the culprit but could not find him.

The investigation is ongoing.
