Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest
The driver had a hypodermic needle and a spoon with Oxycodone residue in his pocket, according to a report.
A traffic stop in Land O' Lakes led to an arrest for drug charges Thursday.
According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, a deputy stopped a Ford Taurus with expired tags at noon on March 15 for failing to use a traffic signal while making an eastbound turn onto Ehren Cutoff from U.S. 41.
The driver, Adam Robert Loew, consented to a search of his person as well as the vehicle, the report stated.

Loew told the deputy he had a knife in his right front pocket. During a search of the pocket, the deputy located a hypodermic needle, the report stated.
A search of the vehicle turned up an Oxycodone pill under the driver's seat, "for which (Loew) did not have a prescription for," according to the report.

A further search of Leow's person "revealed a spoon with Oxycodone residue in (his) left front pocket," the report stated.
Leow told the deputy he forgot the spoon was in his pocket, according to the report.
Loew, 23, of 3744 East Lake Drive in Land O' Lakes, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of paraphanelia. He was released from the Land O' Lakes jail Friday, March 16, on $2,300 bond.
