Wesley Chapel Woman Dies in Early Morning Crash

A Wesley Chapel woman died early Tuesday morning after her car crashed into a telephone pole.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office,  Gina M. Balistreri was traveling south on 78th Street in the Palm River area when her 2005 Toyota Camry veered off the road for an unknown reason and crashed into a telephone pole in front of a residential area at about 3:15 a.m. on Jan. 15.

A resident called 911, and Balistreri was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where she died a short time later, according to the sheriff's office.

Balistreri, 28, of 6217 Bridleford Drive in Wesley Chapel was the only occupant in the vehicle.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
